Doctor of Philosophy
Completion of six months course work followed by submission of the Doctoral Thesis and also by successfully defending the public viva-voce exam.
M. Com. or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent overall average grade point wherever grading system is followed). The admission is done on the basis of a national level admission test.
Academic positions in academic institutions and universities at national and international level. Also, in organisations solely involved in research and development activities.
The program enables the students to develop substantive knowledge in their area of specialization. It will develop the analytical and methodological skills required to evaluate and conduct research in their area of specialization and related areas and design and conduct original research in their area of specialization.
After the award of Ph.D. degree, the awardees are able to
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate the results of their research in a clear and effective manner.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively with other people from various ethnic, educational and work experience backgrounds.
- Demonstrate an understanding and concern for the high ethical standards in business research, teaching and service.
- Demonstrate the ability to teach college-level courses in their area of specialization.
