M.A in (Education) is a two years course with four semesters. The total credit of this programme is 96.

Assistant Professor in University Education Department. Researcher, Independent Investigator, and Independent Writer in Educational Issues. Online teaching, LMS, and Social Media platforms have opened new avenues in the Education sector with abundant opportunities for teachers in Higher Education.

The program has been designed with the following objectives:

PSO1: To impart adequate knowledge, essential skills and to develop a favorable attitude for the course of study.

PSO2: To equip the learners with necessary pedagogical skills and competencies to synchronize theory and practice to become effective learners.

PSO3: To develop self-confidence, self-direction, and self-evolution in learners to ensure their personal & social development and to promote life-long learning.

PSO4: To provide a detailed account of philosophical, sociological, and psychological foundations of education to endorse reflective & critical thinking, social efficiencies &competencies, analytical reasoning &problem-solving ability of learners.

PSO5: To make learners familiar with the historical development of education and to develop a holistic view to appreciate and speculate the educational concepts in modern India like inclusive education, adult & non-formal education, women's education, distance education, teacher education, education for minorities, environmental education, etc.

PSO6: To awaken learners of the educational challenges at different stages, to make them aware of constitutional provisions, to go through the reports of various commissions& national policies in order to inspire them to find out creative solutions.

PSO7: To train the learners for effective use of technology and innovative practices, application of appropriate statistics and to foster academic writing skills to carry out research.

PSO8: To nurture the essential knowledge of curricular framework and design and to equip them to apply this knowledge in curricular evaluation and reconstruction.

PSO9: To stimulate the learners to have sound knowledge regarding guidance & counseling, measurement &evaluation, administration & supervision, to help the learners to identify the issues & concerns of the educational field and to develop necessary insight to resolve these issues.

PSO10: To ignite the learners to become responsible, enlightened, competent &well-adjusted citizens who would contribute their best for self-growth, societal development, nation-building and human welfare as a whole.

M.A. (EDUCATION): PROGRAMME OUTCOMES(POs)

        The following are the programme outcomes of the aforementioned programme:

PO1: To implement lifelong learning among learners through self-paced and self-directed learning aimed at personal development and adapting to changing demands of society.

PO2: To provide the essential knowledge of the psychology of the learner, their diverse needs,
human behaviour, developmental aspects of a learner with reference to their socio-economic and cultural context.

PO3: To equip learners with the knowledge of curriculum construction, evaluation techniques, administration and supervision.

PO4: To inspire learners to be sensitive to the current problems and perspectives of education in order to mobilize them to find creative solutions.

PO5: To accentuate the proficiency required to be effective learners by synchronizing theory and practices. For example Educational technology, computer education, communication skills etc.

PO6: To acquaint the knowledge of curricular objectives with emphasis on foundations and evaluation of curriculum in the light of emerging issues and needs of the present scenario.

PO7: To stimulate the initial spurt of learners in appreciating and speculating the concept of human rights, national values, moral-ethical values, sustainable development, historical, philosophical and sociological perspective of education and the zeal for social reconstruction.

Master in Education (M.ED) is a two-year course with four semesters. The total credits of this programme is 100.

M.Ed.: PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (POs)

The programme has been designed with the following objectives:

PSO1: To familiarize learners with the theories and concepts of education drawn from various disciplines related to education such as Sociology, Philosophy, Psychology, ICT, Distance education etc. in such a way to enrich the linkage with methods, pedagogy and practices in the classroom.

PSO2: To equip learners with the theoretical and statistical knowledge and competencies required for educational researches so that they can conduct researchers to improve theory and practices of education.

PSO3: To give a holistic approach to learners in the existing pre-service and in-service teacher education programmes from the viewpoint of policy and its relevance to the demands and needs in the Indian perspective.

PSO4: To train the learners in various activities and processes of a teacher education institution, in order to gain an insight into the multifaceted roles of a teacher educator and understand the educational management and supervision aspects of these institutions.

PSO5: To develop the spirit of inquiry and critical thinking among learners regarding the policy, planning and financing of secondary and higher education.

PSO6: To develop awareness, understanding and skills to deal with current environmental, social and political issues

PSO7: To specialize learners with the models, theories and approaches of the curriculum with emphasis on evaluation of curriculum in the light of emerging issues and needs in the Indian context.

PSO8: To specialize learners with the policy, planning, financing of secondary education and enrich them with the emerging trend in educational management, supervision and administration.

PSO9: To acquaint learners with the process of professional preparation and characteristics of counsellors and understand the importance of guidance and counselling.

PSO10: To equip learners with the knowledge and understanding for dealing with the education of children with diverse needs.
