Today started a two-day National Seminar on 'Kashmiri Language/ Issues and Challenges'. The Seminar is organized in collaboration with Sahitya Academy, New Delhi.
While delivering the keynote address at the inaugural function of the seminar, Professor Gulshan Majid, Ex-Director, CCAS, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir said that language and culture are interrelated because the language regions possess certain homogeneity of culture and are characterized by common traits in history, folklore and literature.
He pointed out that one of the basic challenges, the Kashmiri language faces today is that the teaching of this language has not been introduced at the primary or secondary school levels in the State. | | |
