Dear Colleagues,
As you all are aware that the "Decennium Report"
of the Physics Department was released recently by Professor Tariq Mansoor, the Vice Chancellor, AMU Aligarh, in a
special function in his office on 27th October, 2022.
The Physics Department, Aligarh Muslim University,
Aligarh, India has completed 111 years of
establishment, at a time when the
country is celebrating the "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" on the completion of 75 years of independence. The "Decennium Report" contains detailed information about the activities and
accomplishments of the members of the department during the last 10 years or
so. Since its inception the department has contributed immensely towards
teaching and research. With each passing year it continues to achieve greater
heights in academic excellence.
The "Decennium Report" portrays the wide
spectrum of academic and co-curricular activities at the Department of Physics
giving a detailed description of the vibrant academic environment that exists
in the department highlighting the research projects and research publications
in Journals and conferences/symposia, Ph.D./M.Phil. degrees awarded in
different areas of physics, funding details of research projects sanctioned to
the department, the conferences, seminars workshops organised during last ten
years.
It includes the
details of facilities/equipment available in the department, special
achievements like awards and honours, books published by the faculty members
during the period as well as the notable contributions made by the faculty
members etc. It also includes the details of activities carried out as part of "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" celebrations.

I personally thank all the students and the staff members for all the support
for maintaining the rich traditions of teaching and research in the department.
