Dr. Ameer Azam is working as Professor in the Department of Applied Physics, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. He has also worked as Associate Professor in the Centre of Nanotechnology, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for about four years (2010-2014). Dr. Azam has more than 32 years of teaching and research experience. Initially, he worked in the area of Solid State Nuclear Track Detection (SSNTD) Technique and later on shifted to the multidisciplinary area of Nanotechnology in 2007. Efforts by Dr. Azam have resulted in starting the following programmes in Nanotechnology in the Department of Applied Physics. (i) P.G. Diploma in Nanotechnology supported by University Grants Commission (UGC), (ii) M. Tech (Nanotechnology) supported under Nano Mission of the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India (iii) SAP (DRS-I) of University Grants Commission (UGC). (iv) SAP (DRS-II) of University Grants Commission (UGC). (v) Centre of Excellence in Materials Science (Nanomaterials) supported by Council of Science & Technology (CST), Government of Uttar Pradesh (UP) (vi) FIST Programme of DST. He has published about 135 research papers in National and International Journals. His articles have appeared in Journals such as PLOS ONE, Int. J. of Nanomedicine, Nanotechnology, J. of Applied Physics, Materials Letters, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, J. of Luminescence, etc. He is reviewer of more than a dozen international journals. He is the inventor of one US and one Indian Patent granted recently.
