Dr. Syed Hayath Basha was born and brought up at Mandlem Village, Kurnool Dist., Andhra Pradesh, India. He has qualified M.A. Philosophy, M.A. Urdu, M.Ed., M.Phil. and PhD. In Education from reputed institutions. At present, he is serving as Assistant Professor in Education at Department of Education, Aligarh Muslim University Malappuram Centre, Kerala. Prior to join at the Centre, he has worked with National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) Noida, Uttar Pradesh as Senior Executive Officer in Teacher Education, University of Delhi as Assistant Professor in Education, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi as Research and Teaching Assistant and Nawab Shah College of Education, Vikarabad, Telangana as Lecturer in Education. 

He has published several articles in the national and international journals, presented papers in the national and international conferences/seminars and also has participated in the national and international workshops, training programmes and symposiums. His work areas of interest include Programme Evaluation, Teacher Education, Educational Technology, Open and Distance Education, Pedagogy of Urdu, Educational Philosophy and Educational Research
