Dr. S.S. Alam joined the Mechanical Engineering Department in 1987. He did his Ph.D. (A Theoretical Study of Liquid Droplet Combustion) from A.M.U., Aligarh. His main research interests include Droplet and Spray Combustion Modelling, Fuel Characteristics with respect to Combustion and Emissions, Micro-combustors, Applied Thermodynamics. Teaching areas cover Thermodynamics, Energy Conversion Systems, Fundamental and Applied Combustion Processes and Properties Estimation Techniques for Pure and Multi-component Hydrocarbon Fuels. Has attended and presented papers at various national and international conferences of repute. He is a permanent member of the combustion Institute (Indian Section). Has been involved in M. Tech admissions of Mechanical Engineering Department and organizing National Conferences and Workshops in the department.
