Dr. Farhan Ahmad Khan working as Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at JN Medical College Hospital, Aligarh Muslim University, India. With over 16 years of extensive research experience, He has made significant contributions in the field of Clinical Pharmacology. He has mentored numerous undergraduate and postgraduate researchers, fostering a new generation of scholars in his field.
In addition to his academic role, Dr Farhan serves as a Consultant for the Drug & Poison Information Centre at his affiliated hospital. His research interests include Pharmacovigilance, Pharmacogenetics, Rational Use of Medicine, and Antibiotic Resistance.
He is the Chief Editor of the International Archives of BioMedical and Clinical Research and holds editorial board positions in several esteemed international, peer-reviewed medical research journals. His professional affiliations include memberships in prestigious organizations such as the American College of Clinical Pharmacology, the British Pharmacological Society, the International Society of Pharmacovigilance, the UK Pharmacogenetics and Stratified Medicine Network, the Indian Society for Clinical Research, the Asian Council of Science Editors, and the Science Alert Family.
Elected as Education Councillor for the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) Education Committee for the term 2023-2026. Dr Farhan has also served on the Education Committee of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology in 2020. Additionally, he was appointed as Head of the Accreditation Board for the National Association of Pharmacology and Therapeutics in India for a two-year term.
Dr Farhan has been instrumental in coordinating the Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) Monitoring Centre under the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. He has also played a crucial role in developing the hospital drug formulary to meet the institution’s needs.
With substantial administrative experience, Dr Farhan has led his department as head for six years, demonstrating exceptional leadership and commitment to advancing clinical pharmacology.
