     Dr. Sartaj A. Tiyagi is working as a Post-Graduate Teacher is working as a Post-Graduate Teacher in S.H. Senior Secondary School (Boys) of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He was awarded M. Phil and Ph.D. degrees in 1985 and 1991, respectively, from this university. He has published 84 research papers in the journal of national and international repute. He has also worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow (Research Associate) in the Department of Botany, AMU, Aligarh under the R&D Program of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, Government of India. This premier organization awarded the fellowship to work on “Control of disease complex involving root-rot fungus and root-knot/reniform nematodes on Chickpea,” a pulse crop. During this period, he had successfully attended several training courses/workshops related to his subject and participated in National and International Conferences/Symposia. He is a Fellow of the Nematological Society of India, New Delhi, and a member of several National and International Scientific Societies and Organizations. 

     Recently, the Council of Science and Technology (CST), Uttar Pradesh Government, has bestowed on him the Science Teacher Award 2014-15, which was presented by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath at Lucknow, for his contribution to education techniques and in promoting organic farming in the Indian Agricultural System. He is actively engaged in various scientific programs at the university and national levels. He is currently developing an organic farming methodology that seeks to minimize the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers that are hazardous to human health and the existing harmony among microorganisms in nature.
