Dr Azizur Rahman A is an Assistant Professor of Sociology In the Department of West Asian and North African Studies at Aligarh Muslim University. He earned his Master's and MPhil/PhD in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi. Dr. Aziz's research is focused on the intricate fields of the Sociology of Migration and Political Sociology. He explores the complex intersections of religion within this domain, specifically political Islam, ethnicity, and conflict within West Asia and beyond .
In the classroom, Dr. Aziz enriches the academic experience through diverse courses. His pedagogical portfolio includes instructing on Society and Culture in West Asia, International Migration and West Asia, and the intriguing nexus of Islamic resurgence and Politics in the region. Further enriching the academic landscape, he extends his expertise to courses on the Arabian Peninsula and delves into the profound depths of the Sociology of Ibn-Khaldun. He also teaches research ethics to PhD students. He has various academic achievements, including UGC/ NET/JRF in sociology and UGC/NET in women's studies. He has published different Research papers/articles in reputed academic journals.
