I
have obtained B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Zoology in 2012 and M.Sc. with
specialisation in Parasitology in 2015 from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.
I am pursuing PhD, under the supervision of Prof. Wajihullah. I have been
appointed as an assistant professor in the department of zoology since September,
2019.
My research focuses on the pathology caused by the interaction between hosts and pathogens which result in severe infectious diseases, particularly malaria and dengue. I am interested in understanding the host-parasite interactions at transcriptomic levels and integration of gene expression analysis with detailed clinical and laboratory data to characterize the systemic pathophysiology of severe malaria and dengue. To provide a diagnostic algorithm for communities where dengue fever and malaria occur at a similar frequency. In the long term to streamline diagnoses and make detection of outbreaks more efficient for developing countries, especially the endemic resource-poor nations.
