Completed M. Sc. (Geology) in 1990, qualified NET (CSIR-UGC), JRF in 1991 and SRF in 1994. After completing Ph. D. in 1997, got selected for Research Associateship (CSIR) with three extra increment, in 1997. The M. Phil and Ph. D. are in the field of Sedimentology, related to Petrofacies and diagenesis of sandstones of Jaisalmer and Marwar Basins of Rajasthan.
First joined the Department of Geology as a lecturer in 1996 and later on in the Deptt of Civil Engineering as Lecturer Engineering Geology. Became Reader in 2006, Associate Professor in 2009 and Professor in 2012.
Developed an Engineering Geology lab and started the new course as "Geo-engineering of Rocks and Rock Masses" and "Rock Engineering", "Tunneling and Underground Construction" and "Landslide Hazard Assessment and Mitigation" . at UG and PG level. Also taught Remote Sensing and GIS, Petroleum Geology & Exploration and Disaster Management Courses at different levels.
Delivered more than 50 lectures on Disaster Management, Environmental Stresses and Strain, Climate Change at various forums especially at UGC Academic Staff College, AMU, Aligarh.
My research interest includes Engineering Geology, Geo-engineering and Rock Mechanics, Earthquake Engineering, Sedimentology and Disaster management. Also, part of the group overseeing the "Centre for Studies on Disaster Management" in the Department of Civil Engineering.
Departmental Coordinator (B. Tech 2016.) for NBA got Five Year Accreditation.
ONGOING RESEARCH PROJECT: Co – PI of Research Project DST SERB, titled " Exploring Possible Evidence for Permian-Triassic Mass Extinction, from Tethys Himalyaa, Kumaun, Uttrakhand, Using Isotope Geochemistry" Cost 40,19,720/- ANRF DST.

Apart from teaching assignments have a long association with students' extra curricular activities as Provost, Nadeem Tarin Hall from 2015 to 2017 and was a member of AMU Court and Academic Council.
Also worked as Program Officer of NSS and Warden in various halls of residence. Presently working as Part Time Coordinator of NSS.
Have published one book titled "Fundamentals of Engineering Geology and Geo-Engineering" in 2013.
Published 9 Modules M-09 to M-15 on Engineering Geology for MHRD/UGC ePG Pathshala in for Paper 10 with 09 Videos on each module can be found on "Vidya Mitra" on YouTube.
Have published Twenty International and Thirty research papers in National journals. Thirty Five papers were published in International (06) and National Conferences (29).
Carried out work related to Urdu translation of books under the aegis of the Centre for Promotion of sciences, AMU, Aligarh.
