अलीगढ़ 14 मार्चः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के प्रो-वाइस चांसलर प्रोफेसर मोहम्मद गुलरेज जामिआ मिल्लिया इस्लामिया, नयी दिल्ली के इंडिया अरब कल्चरल सेंटर द्वारा ‘ग्लोबल पावर ट्रांजिशन एंड इवॉल्विंग रीजनल आर्किटेक्चरः इंडिया एंड द गल्फ रीजन’ विषय पर आयोजित लेक्चर प्रस्तुत करते हुए कहा कि भारत व्यापार, अर्थव्यवस्था और डायस्पोरा के क्षेत्र में अरब राज्यों के साथ सौहार्दपूर्ण संबंध साझा करता है जो उनके पड़ोसी और सभ्यतागत बंधनों को समृद्ध करता है। इसलिए जी20 मंच पर, भारत ने न केवल अरब देशों बल्कि पूरे वैश्विक दक्षिण को अपने साथ ले लिया है और उन लोगों की आवाज बनने पर ध्यान केंद्रित कर रहा है, जिनकी चिंता विश्व शक्तियों द्वारा पहले हल नहीं की जा सकी थी।
उन्होंने वैश्विक परिदृश्य में वर्तमान भारतीय नेतृत्व की गतिशीलता, विशेष रूप से विश्व व्यवस्था के अंतराल को पाटने में प्रधान मंत्री की मजबूत भूमिका पर प्रकाश डाला। उन्होंने कहा कि दुनिया ने एक द्विध्रुवीय व्यवस्था देखी है जिसके बाद एक बहु-ध्रवीय व्यवस्था देखी गई जहां बहुपक्षीय संस्थानों को विश्व शांति में योगदान करने कि जिम्मेदारी सौंपी गई, लेकिन हाल के दिनों में वे संस्थाएं और विश्व शक्तियां स्वयं जांच के दायरे में हैं। उन्होंने जोर देकर कहा कि इस संदर्भ में भारत के पास खुद को आगे करने का अवसर है और जी20 मंच इसके लिए एक उपयुक्त मंच है।
उन्होंने कहा कि एक नई विश्व व्यवस्था उत्पत्ति के दौर से गुजर रही है और अरब दुनिया के संदर्भ में, भारत के पास जी20 शिखर सम्मेलन में अतिथि देशों के रूप में मिस्र, ओमान और यूएई हैं जो अरब पड़ोसी राज्यों के प्रति इसकी चिंता को दर्शाता है।
प्रोफेसर गुलरेज ने जोर देकर कहा कि भारत वैश्विक शांति हासिल करने की संभावनाओं को बढ़ाने के लक्ष्य के साथ साइबर सुरक्षा, आतंकवाद और हरित ऊर्जा के क्षेत्र में आज वैश्वीकृत दुनिया के सामने आने वाली चुनौतियों का मुकाबला करने के लिए भारत जी20 के माध्यम से बहुत प्रयास कर रहा है।
इससे पूर्व, अतिथि वक्ता का स्वागत करते हुए जी-20 व्याख्यान श्रृंखला के मानद निदेशक और संयोजक प्रो. नासिर रजा खान ने वार्ता के महत्व और प्रासंगिकता को रेखांकित किया।
प्रश्नोत्तर सत्र के बाद व्याख्यान कार्यक्रम का समापन डॉ. आफताब अहमद द्वारा धन्यवाद प्रस्ताव के साथ हुआ।

अलीगढ़, 27 अप्रैलः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के भूविज्ञान विभाग द्वारा भारत की जी20 अध्यक्षता का जश्न मनाने के लिए भारत सरकार के शिक्षा मंत्रालय द्वारा जारी जी20 यूनिवर्सिटी कनेक्ट प्रोग्राम के अंतर्गत 29 अप्रैल को ‘आइसोटोप भूविज्ञानः अतीत, वर्तमान और भविष्य की दिशा’ विषय पर जी20 थीम वाली कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया जा रहा है।

आयोजन सचिव प्रो. एमईए मोंडाल ने कहा कि भूवैज्ञानिक विज्ञान में हाल के विकास, चुनौतियों और रणनीतियों को उजागर करने के लिए कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया जा रहा है और आइसोटोप जियोकेमिस्ट्री पर भी विशेष बल दिया जाएगा।

प्रो. मोंडाल ने कहा कि कार्यशाला का उद्घाटन प्रातः 10 बजे भूविज्ञान विभाग में होगा।

प्रो. सांतनु बनर्जी (आईआईटी बॉम्बे), डॉ. वलीउर रहमान (वैज्ञानिक ई, एनसीपीओआर) और प्रो. नुरुल अबसार (पांडिचेरी विश्वविद्यालय) कार्यशाला के दौरान व्याख्यान प्रस्तुत करेंगे।

अलीगढ़, 27 अप्रैलः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के वाणिज्य विभाग द्वारा बाउर कॉलेज ऑफ बिजनेस, ह्यूस्टन विश्वविद्यालय, यूएसए के सहयोग से आयोजित 12 सप्ताह की स्टिम्युलेटिंग अर्बन रिन्यूवल थुरू एंटरप्रेन्योरशिप (श्योर) कार्यशाला में छात्रों को एक शैक्षिक और नेटवर्किंग और हैंडहोल्डिंग प्लेटफॉर्म प्रदान किया गया जिसमें प्रतिभागियों को उद्योग विशेषज्ञों और विविध पृष्ठभूमि से संभावित उद्यमियों के बीच मूल्यवर्धित साझेदारी की सुविधा भी प्रदान की गई।

इन संभावित उद्यमियों में इंजीनियरिंग और वाणिज्य के छात्र, संघर्षरत और छोटे स्तर के उद्यमी, कम संसाधन वाले समुदायों की महिलाएं और ऐसे व्यक्ति शामिल थे जो व्यवसाय सीखना चाहते हैं। कार्यशाला का आयोजन जी-20 यूनिवर्सिटी कनेक्ट प्रोग्राम के तहत किया गया था।

समापन सत्र के मुख्य अतिथि कुलपति प्रो मोहम्मद गुलरेज ने कहा कि भारत के दुनिया का सबसे अधिक आबादी वाला देश बनने के साथ और एमएसएमई द्वारा रोजगार सृजन कि सम्भावना के दृष्टिगत उद्यमशीलता राष्ट्र के भविष्य के विकास और प्रगति की कुंजी है और श्योर कार्यक्रम नए उद्यमियों को सहयोग और बढ़ावा देने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा रहा है।

प्रोफेसर गुलरेज ने कहा कि एएमयू समर्पण के साथ देश की सेवा करने वाला एक सार्वजनिक संस्थान है। एएमयू ने पांच गांवों को गोद लिया है जहां विश्वविद्यालय के विभिन्न विभिन्न समस्याओं तथा स्वास्थय के मुद्दों पर जागरूकता उत्पन्न करने का काम कर रहे हैं।

मानद अतिथि श्रीमती मीनू राणा, एडीएम, एफ-आर, अलीगढ़ ने कहा कि उद्यमिता कार्यक्रम नए कौशल सीखने और ज्ञान को उन्नत करने का अवसर प्रदान करते हैं। प्रतिभागियों को प्रोत्साहित करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि मजबूत बिंदुओं की पहचान करना और कौशल विकास प्रगति और सफलता की कुंजी है। आपको अपना उद्यम स्थापित करने का प्रयास करना चाहिए, इस प्रकार अर्थव्यवस्था को बढ़ावा देना और देश की जीडीपी में वृद्धि करना संभव हो सकेगा।

कार्यशाला के अध्यक्ष और एएमयू के वित्त अधिकारी, प्रो. मोहसिन खान ने कहा कि उद्यमिता को अक्सर आर्थिक वृद्धि और विकास के एक महत्वपूर्ण इंजन के रूप में देखा जाता है। भारत जैसे उभरते आर्थिक समाज में, जिसकी जनसंख्या अब चीन से अधिक है और बेरोजगारी दर 7.45 प्रतिशत है, जिसका उद्यमिता ही एकमात्र समाधान है।

उन्होंने कहा कि भारत सरकार इस दिशा में सभी महत्वपूर्ण कदम उठा रही है और मेक इन इंडिया, स्टार्टअप इंडिया और आत्मनिर्भर भारत अभियान जैसी विभिन्न योजनाओं के माध्यम से स्टार्ट-अप के माहौल को प्रोत्साहित कर रही है। उन्होंने आगे कहा कि जी20 शिखर सम्मेलन का इरादा स्टार्टअप संस्कृति को आगे बढ़ाने और भारत में नवाचार और उद्यमिता के लिए एक समावेशी पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र बनाने का भी है।

प्रो मोहसिन ने कहा कि श्योर वर्कशॉप एक ऐसा कदम है जो उद्यमशीलता को बढ़ावा देने के लिए भारत सरकार की कुछ प्रमुख योजनाओं को पूरा करता है और उसमें योगदान देता है।

श्योर वर्कशॉप की संयोजक और निदेशक, प्रो आसिया चैधरी ने कहा कि कार्यशाला में लागत और लेखा, बैंकिंग, डीआईसी, मार्केटिंग, कानूनी सलाह आदि पर विभिन्न सत्र आयोजित किए गए। कार्यशाला के कुछ उल्लेखनीय परिणाम यह थे कि कई प्रतिभागियों ने अपना स्टार्टअप तैयार कर, अपने ट्रेडमार्क और जीएसटी पंजीकरण करा लिया, कागजी कार्रवाई शुरू कर ली और सहयोगी बैंकरों, डीआईसी, खरीदारों और विक्रेताओं के साथ बात चीत शुरू कर दी।

प्रो आसिया ने कहा कि 4 इंजीनियरिंग छात्रों का एक समूह जिन्होंने पहले से ही शैक्षिक सॉफ्टवेयर विकसित कर लिया है, श्योर कार्यक्रम  से सीखने के बाद जल्द ही अपना स्टार्टअप लॉन्च करने के लिए तैयार हैं, जबकि श्रीमती संजीदा बेगम और सुश्री उल्फत क्रमशः सिलाई कढ़ाई और विज्ञान और गणित के लिए कोचिंग सेंटर लॉन्च करने जा रही हैं। इसी तरह, श्री अब्दुर रहमान अपने कांच के व्यवसाय को बढ़ा रहे हैं, जबकि सुश्री नौरीन और हुदा ने पर्यावरण के अनुकूल अपने पेपर बैग व्यवसाय के लिए कदम बढ़ाया है।

श्योर कार्यशाला में प्रशिक्षित होने के बाद सुश्री इकरा और सुश्री अदीना ने अपने फैशन कोचिंग संस्थान की शुरुआत की, जबकि सुश्री फराह कार्यशाला के तुरंत बाद एक जिम की स्थापना कर रही हैं।

वाणिज्य संकाय के डीन, प्रो. मो. नासिर जमीर कुरैशी ने कहा कि महामारी के बाद के आर्थिक परिदृश्य में व्यापर मंदी या पूर्ण बंदी का शिकार हो गया, बेरोजगारी बढ़ गई, और कर संग्रह में भी भारी कमी आयी। इस पृष्ठभूमि में सूक्ष्म उद्यमिता की अवधारणा अधिक महत्वपूर्ण हो जाती है क्योंकि एमएसएमई दुनिया भर में अधिकतर व्यापार के लिए जिम्मेदार है और रोजगार सृजन और वैश्विक आर्थिक विकास में एक महत्वपूर्ण योगदानकर्ता है।

विभागाध्यक्ष, प्रोफेसर एस.एम. इमामुल हक ने स्वागत भाषण दिया।

कार्यशाला के प्रतिभागियों सुश्री नाजिश और श्री दिव्यांश शांडिल्य ने अपने अनुभव साझा किए।

डॉ. अनवर अहमद ने धन्यवाद ज्ञापित किया। श्री मुशाहिद अली शम्सी और श्री मो. अब्दुल्ला ने कार्यक्रम का संचालन किया। कार्यशाला में 58 प्रतिभागियों ने भाग लिया। उन्हें सर्टीफिकेट भी वितरित किये गये।

अलीगढ़, 3 मईः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय (एएमयू) के भूविज्ञान विभाग द्वारा पृथ्वी दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में एक सप्ताह तक चलने वाले कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया गया जिसमें नारा लेखन और पोस्टर बनाने की प्रतियोगिता, विशेष व्याख्यान और वृक्षारोपण अभियान सहित कई गतिविधियाँ आयोजित शामिल हैं।

समापन समारोह की अध्यक्षता एएमयू के कुलपति प्रो. मोहम्मद गुलरेज ने की। अपने संबोधन में उन्होंने जलवायु परिवर्तन की समस्या और उससे जुड़े प्रभावों पर प्रकाश डाला।

प्रोफेसर गुलरेज ने विभाग की पहल और इसके अनुसंधान और प्लेसमेंट गतिविधियों की सराहना की।

मुख्य अतिथि डॉ कलाचंद सैन, निदेशक, वाडिया संस्थान, और विभागाध्यक्ष, प्रो. कुंवर फरहीम खान ने श्रोताओं को संबोधित किया और हमारे ग्रह को बचाने में भूविज्ञान के महत्व पर जोर दिया।

स्लोगन व पोस्टर प्रतियोगिता के विजेताओं को कुलपति, अध्यक्ष, संयोजक व आयोजन सचिव ने पुरस्कार व प्रमाण पत्र वितरित किए।

समापन समारोह के बाद डॉ कलाचंद सेन द्वारा ‘हिमालय में जियोहजार्ड्स और प्रशंसनीय शमन’ पर एक विशेष तकनीकी व्याख्यान दिया गया। डॉ. सेन ने हिमालयी क्षेत्र में केदारनाथ और चमोली आपदा जैसी हालिया विनाशकारी घटनाओं से सीखे जाने वाले सबक पर चर्चा की।

उन्होंने इन विनाशकारी घटनाओं और हिमालय में प्राकृतिक आपदाओं से निपटने के तरीकों पर अपने हालिया शोध को भी साझा किया।

आयोजन सचिव प्रो. एम.ई.ए. मंडल ने कार्यक्रम का संचालन किया, जबकि कार्यक्रम के संयोजक प्रो राशिद उमर ने धन्यवाद ज्ञापन किया।

भारत के जी-20 प्रेसीडेंसी के तत्वाधान में ‘वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम’ या ‘एक पृथ्वी, एक परिवार, एक भविष्य’ की थीम के सन्दर्भ में विभाग परिसर में एक वृक्षारोपण अभियान भी आयोजित किया गया। इस अवसर पर कर्मचारियों और छात्रों को वृक्षारोपण की आवश्यकता और पृथ्वी पर जीवन के अस्तित्व के लिए पेड़ कैसे महत्वपूर्ण हैं, के बारे में जागरूक किया गया।

अलीगढ़ 4 मईः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी गर्ल्स स्कूल ने जी-20 के बैनर तले विशेष मॉर्निंग असेंबली, इंट्रा-स्कूल निबंध लेखन प्रतियोगिता, इंट्रा-स्कूल क्विज प्रतियोगिता और इंट्रा-स्कूल फ्लैग मेकिंग प्रतियोगिता सहित कई प्रतियोगी कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए।

विशेष प्रातः काल की सभा को संबोधित करते हुए, डॉ. इरशाद खान ने भारत की जी20 अध्यक्षता की मुख्य विशेषताओं पर प्रकाश डाला और कहा कि भारतीय अध्यक्षता के तहत, सितंबर 2023 में जी20 शिखर सम्मेलन, ‘एक पृथ्वी, एक परिवार, एक भविष्य’ विषय पर केंद्रित होगा। यह विषय मानव, पशु, पौधे और सूक्ष्मजीवों के मूल्य और ग्रह पृथ्वी पर उनकी परस्पर निर्भरता की पुष्टि करता है।

सीनियर ग्रुप के लिए ‘जी-20 के तहत सतत विकास लक्ष्यों’ पर अंतर-विद्यालय निबंध लेखन प्रतियोगिता आयोजित की गई, जबकि जूनियर समूह के प्रतिभागियों ने ‘भारत के लिए जी-20 शिखर सम्मेलन का महत्व’ पर निबंध लिखा। कार्यक्रम में कुल 116 छात्राओं ने भाग लिया।

इंट्रा स्कूल क्विज प्रतियोगिता में कुल 110 विद्यार्थियों ने भाग लिया।

दो ग्रुप में आयोजित अंतर विद्यालय फ्लैग मेकिंग प्रतियोगिता के अंतर्गत सीनियर ग्रुप में मदीहा इमरान, फातिमा और शिफा परवीन ने क्रमशः पहला, दूसरा और तीसरा पुरस्कार जीता, जबकि जूनियर ग्रुप में युसरा, रिजवा रब्बी और नायला फातिमा ने क्रमशः पहला, दूसरा और तीसरा पुरस्कार जीता।

अलीगढ़, 6 मईः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय वीमेन्स पॉलीटेक्निक द्वारा तीन दिवसीय आभूषण निर्माण में व्यावसायिक कौशल पर तीन दिवसीय कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया गया, जिसमें छात्राओं को आभूषण निर्माण के साथ-साथ मनके बनाने के व्यवसाय से रूबरू कराया गया और उन्हें फैशन के कौशल भी सिखाये गये।

इस अवसर पर रिसोर्स पर्सन कुमारी यशोदा (डिजाइनर सहायक) ने मोती के आभूषण बनाने के रोचक कौशल का प्रदर्शन किया। उन्होंने विभिन्न प्रकार के मोतियों का उपयोग करके हार, झुमके, पायल और कंगन बनाए।

डॉ सलमा शाहीन (प्राचार्य, यूनिवर्सिटी वीमेन्स पॉलीटेक्निक एवं कार्यशाला संयोजक) ने कहा कि एक उद्यमी देश और राष्ट्र की एक संपत्ति है और महिला उद्यमी देश की जीडीपी की वृद्धि में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा सकती हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि इस कार्यशाला का आयोजन जी20 शिखर सम्मेलन की अध्यक्षता के उत्सव के तौर पर किया जा रहा है।

वर्कशॉप में कॉस्ट्यूम डिजाइनिंग और ड्रेस मेकिंग सेक्शन के सभी छात्रों ने भाग लिया और विभिन्न तकनीक का उपयोग करते हुए 100 से अधिक सजावटी सामान बनाए। सभी प्रतिभागियों को ई-सर्टिफिकेट दिए गए।

डॉ शीबा मंजूर और श्रीमती फौजिया खान कार्यक्रम की सहायक संयोजक थीं, सादिया नईम सहायक समन्वयक थीं और कुमारी इकरा इस्लाम आयोजन सचिव थीं।

अलीगढ़, 9 मईः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के स्कूलों ने जी-20 श्रृंखला के कार्यक्रमों के तहत कई कार्यक्रमों और प्रतियोगिताओं का आयोजन किया, जिनमें छात्रों ने भारत की जी-20 अध्यक्षता का जश्न मनाया और ‘वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम’ के संदेश का प्रसार किया।

एएमयू के एसटीएस स्कूल (मिंटो सर्कल) में ‘इलेक्ट्रॉनिक उपकरणों पर अत्यधिक निर्भरता किशोरों की जन्मजात रचनात्मकता को प्रभावित कर रही है’ और ‘निगमों की तुलना में व्यक्तियों में जलवायु परिवर्तन के लिए दोष अधिक हैं’ विषयों पर जूनियर और वरिष्ठ श्रेणियों में एक इंटर-स्कूल वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया। प्रतियोगिता में एएमयू के सभी स्कूलों के विद्यार्थियों ने भाग लिया।

अंग्रेजी वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता का उद्देश्य जी-20 शिखर सम्मेलन के बारे में जागरूकता पैदा करना था और बहस के विषयों का चयन जी-20 शिखर सम्मेलन के एजेंडे के अनुसार किया गया था। विद्यार्थियों ने दिए गए विषयों के पक्ष और विपक्ष में अपने विचार प्रस्तुत किए।

कार्यक्रम को मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में संबोधित करते हुए एएमयू के स्कूल शिक्षा निदेशक प्रोफेसर असफर अली खान ने भारत में जी20 शिखर सम्मेलन के महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला और जी20 एजेंडा और विषयों के बारे में जागरूकता पैदा करने पर जोर दिया।

डॉ. सफिया अख्तर काजमी, एसोसिएट प्रोफेसर, इलेक्ट्रिकल इंजीनियरिंग विभाग, जेएचसीईटी और डॉ. सदफ फरीद, सहायक प्रोफेसर, अंग्रेजी विभाग, विमेंस कॉलेज ने वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता को जज किया।

श्री फैसल नफीस, प्रधानाचार्य, एसटीएस स्कूल और एएमयू स्कूलों की आयोजन समिति (जी-20 शिखर सम्मेलन) के समन्वयक ने विजेताओं को उनकी सक्रिय भागीदारी के लिए बधाई दी। उन्होंने कहा कि यह हमारे लिए गर्व का क्षण है कि भारत जी20 शिखर सम्मेलन का नेतृत्व कर रहा है और यह देश के इतिहास में एक अद्वितीय क्षण है।

जूनियर वर्ग में एसटीएस स्कूल के मास्टर मोहम्मद साद, मास्टर मयंक चैधरी और एएमयू एबीके हाई स्कूल-बॉयज के मास्टर मोहम्मद कैफ ने क्रमशः पहला, दूसरा और तीसरा पुरस्कार हासिल किया। दृष्टिबाधित अहमदी स्कूल के मास्टर अरुण कुमार को सांत्वना पुरस्कार मिला।

सीनियर वर्ग में एसटीएस स्कूल के मास्टर मान्या गुप्ता ने पहला, एसटीएस स्कूल के मास्टर अयाज अब्दुल्ला ने दूसरा और सैय्यद हामिद सीनियर सेकेंडरी स्कूल (बॉयज) के मास्टर यूसुफ रजा ने क्रमशः दूसरा और तीसरा पुरस्कार प्राप्त किया।

अलीगढ़ 10 मईः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के एएमयू गर्ल्स स्कूल द्वारा कक्षा छठी से आठवीं तक के छात्रों के लिए जी20 प्रेसीडेंसी समारोह से सम्बंधित कार्यक्रमों के अंतर्गत ‘इलेक्ट्रॉनिक उपकरणों पर अत्यधिक निर्भरता से इनेट क्रिएटिविटी ऑफ टीनएजर्स प्रभावित हो रही है’ विषय पर अंतर-विद्यालय वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया जिसमें इनाया फिरदौस (कक्षा आठ, एएमयू गर्ल्स स्कूल) ने प्रथम पुरस्कार जीता जबकि अमीना हसन (कक्षा सात, एएमयू गल्र्स) और अदीबा (कक्षा आठ, एबीके गर्ल्स हाई स्कूल) ने क्रमशः दूसरा और तीसरा पुरस्कार प्राप्त किया। भारती यादव (कक्षा आठ, एएसवीसी) को सांत्वना पुरस्कार दिया गया।

कार्यक्रम को संबोधित करते हुए मुख्य अतिथि प्रो. मो. जहांगीर वारसी, अध्यक्ष, भाषाविज्ञान विभाग ने कहा कि जी20 शिखर सम्मेलन की अध्यक्षता पर्यावरण के सन्दर्भ में जीवन शैली पर प्रभाव डालेगी, जिसमें व्यक्तिगत और राष्ट्रीय दोनों स्तरों पर पर्यावरणीय रूप से टिकाऊ और जिम्मेदार विकल्पों पर जोर दिया जाएगा। यह एक स्वच्छ, हरा-भरा और नीला भविष्य प्राप्त करने में मदद करेगा।

जी-20 के तहत फैंसी ड्रेस, निबंध प्रतियोगिता आयोजित

अलीगढ़ 12 मईः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी सिटी गर्ल्स हाई स्कूल में एएमयू स्कूलों द्वारा जी 20 शिखर सम्मेलन की भारत की अध्यक्षता की थीम पर आयोजित की जानेवाली कार्यक्रमों की श्रृंखला के अंतर्गत फैंसी ड्रेस और निबंध लेखन प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया।

स्कूल के प्राचार्य डा. मुहम्मद आलमगीर ने बताया कि कक्षा दूसरी से आठवीं तक की छात्राओं के लिए आयोजित फैंसी ड्रेस प्रतियोगिता में इरम शाहिद (पांच-बी) ने प्रथम पुरस्कार जीता, जबकि आसिफा (छठी-ए) को दूसरा और सकीना फातिमा (छठी-ए) को तीसरा पुरस्कार मिला।

सुबिया खान (पांच-ए) और सुम्बुल (चार-बी) को सांत्वना पुरस्कार दिया गया, जबकि हुमेरा (सात-ए) को विशेष पुरस्कार दिया गया।

उन्होंने बताया कि ‘जी20 की पहल, लक्ष्य और उद्देश्य’ विषय पर आयोजित निबंध लेखन प्रतियोगिता में उर्दू भाषा श्रेणी के तहत प्रथम पुरस्कार महविश (10-बी) को दिया गया और दूसरा पुरस्कार अर्शीन (नो-ए) को दिया गया। अंग्रेजी भाषा श्रेणी में महविश फातिमा (दस-ए) ने पहला पुरस्कार जीता जबकि दूसरा पुरस्कार अंबर मिर्जा (आठ-ए) को मिला और हिंदी भाषा श्रेणी में अर्पणा भारद्वाज (दस-बी) को प्रथम पुरस्कार मिला जबकि शगुन गोस्वामी (नो-बी) को दूसरा पुरस्कार दिया गया।

सुप्रीम कोर्ट और भारतीय संविधान के विकास पर एक्सट्राम्युराल व्याख्यान

अलीगढ़ 13 मईः आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव और जी20 उत्सव कार्यक्रमों के अंतर्गत, अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के विधि संकाय द्वारा ‘सुप्रीम कोर्ट और भारतीय संविधान का विकास’ विषय पर एक एक्सट्राम्युराल व्याख्यान का आयोजन किया गया। भारत के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश कृष्ण मुरारी, जो आज के मुख्य अतिथि भी थे, ने यह व्याख्यान दिया।

अपने संबोधन में, जस्टिस मुरारी ने सर सैयद अहमद खान और जस्टिस सैयद महमूद को भाव भीनी श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करते हुए उन्हें ‘शिक्षा का दूत’ और ‘एएमयू में कानूनी शिक्षा का अग्रदूत’ बताया। उन्होंने रफी अहमद किदवई, बैरिस्टर चैधरी हैदर हुसैन, काजी सैयद करीमुद्दीन और हसरत मोहानी सहित संविधान सभा के विभिन्न सदस्यों के योगदान का भी उल्लेख किया और भारत के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति जाकिर हुसैन और पूर्व उपराष्ट्रपति हामिद अंसारी सहित राष्ट्र निर्माण में इस विश्वविद्यालय के कई पूर्व छात्रों के योगदान को रेखांकित किया।

जस्टिस मुरारी ने फेडरल कोर्ट और प्रिवी काउंसिल सहित भारत के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय और इसके पूर्ववर्ती न्यायालयों के ऐतिहासिक विकास पर चर्चा की। उन्होंने विशेष रूप से अनुच्छेद 21 के संबंध में भारतीय संविधान के उद्देश्यों और सर्वोच्च न्यायालय की व्याख्या शक्ति पर प्रकाश डाला। उन्होंने एके गोपालन बनाम मद्रास राज्य, मेनका गांधी बनाम भारत संघ, गोलकनाथ बनाम पंजाब राज्य और केशवानंद भारती जैसे ऐतिहासिक मुकदमों की चर्चा की जिसने बुनियादी संरचना का सिद्धांत पेश किया। उन्होंने भारत के पहले अटॉर्नी जनरल एमसी सीतलवाड़ जैसे बार के सदस्यों के योगदान की भी प्रशंसा की।

केशवानंद भारती मामले में न्यायमूर्ति हमीदुल्लाह बेग के बयान का उल्लेख करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि यह प्रस्तावना और भारत के संविधान के भाग 3 और 4 के प्रावधानों से स्पष्ट है कि यह सैलस पॉपुली सुप्रीम लेक्स, यानी हमारे संविधान में सन्निहित सर्वोच्च कानून अर्थात देश की जनता की भलाई के सिद्धांत को व्यक्त करता है, जैसा कि संविधान की प्रस्तावना द्वारा इंगित किया गया है, जो संविधान के चार उद्देश्यों में से प्रथम उद्देश्य ‘सामाजिक, आर्थिक और राजनीतिक न्याय’ को ऊपर रखती है।

उन्होंने छात्रों से भारत माता के सच्चे सपूतों से प्रेरणा लेने का आग्रह किया और कानून के क्षेत्र में समय की पाबंदी और ईमानदारी के महत्व पर प्रकाश डालते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि मुकदमेबाजी के क्षेत्र में शुरुआती दिन मुश्किल हो सकते हैं लेकिन अगर कोई इसे अच्छी तरह इसमें निपुणता हासिल कर लेता है, तो इसमें भविष्य उज्ज्वल है और उनके लिए आकाश ही एकमात्र सीमा है। उन्होंने छात्रों को अध्ययन की आदत डालने की सलाह दी।

इससे पूर्व, जस्टिस मुरारी का स्वागत करते हुए विधि संकाय के डीन, प्रो. मोहम्मद जफर महफूज नोमानी ने फैकल्टी ऑफ लॉ के ऐतिहासिक विकास पर प्रकाश डाला और जस्टिस सैयद महमूद, जस्टिस सर शाह सुलेमान, जस्टिस मुर्तजा फजल अली, न्यायमूर्ति बहरुल इस्लाम और न्यायमूर्ति आर.पी. सेठी सहित फैकल्टी के अनेक पूर्व छात्रों और पुरस्कार विजेताओं का उल्लेख किया। उन्होंने हाल के दो फैसलों का भी जिक्र किया जिनमें जस्टिस कृष्ण मुरारी बेंच का हिस्सा थे।

उन्होंने कहा कि इन निर्णयों में एक हमारे देश के संघीय ढांचे और दोहरी राजनीतिक व्यवस्था से संबंधित है, जिसमें दिल्ली के एनसीटी के उपराज्यपाल की शक्तियों पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया है, और दूसरा महाराष्ट्र सरकार के लिए शक्ति परीक्षण से संबंधित है।

प्रो. नोमानी ने कहा कि महाराष्ट्र का फैसला केशवानंद भारती बनाम केरेला राज्य, हर गोविंद पंत बनाम रघुकुल तिलक और एस.आर. बोम्मई बनाम भारत संघ के बाद के ऐतिहासिक फैसलों में से एक है, जिसने आने वाले समय के लिए भारतीय राजनीति के स्वर और भाव को निर्धारित किया है।

इलाहाबाद उच्च न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश, न्यायमूर्ति आदित्य नाथ मित्तल ने अपने संबोधन में कहा कि भारतीय संविधान का सबसे आकर्षक खंड अनुच्छेद 21 है, जिसकी एके गोपालन बनाम मेनका गांधी मामले में विस्तार से व्याख्या की गई है।

उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि स्वतंत्रता के अधिकार को कानून द्वारा स्थापित प्रक्रिया द्वारा ही कम किया जा सकता है।

ALIGARH May 15: The Aligarh Muslim University Girls’ School organized several competitive events under the series of programmes by AMU schools on the theme of G20 summit under India’s presidency. 

In the Debate Competition under junior group (VI to VIII), Innaya Firdaus (AMUGS), Aiman Hasan (AMUGS) and Afreen (ABKGS) won the first, second and third prizes respectively, while Bharti Yadav (ASVC) was given the consolation prize.

In the Essay Writing Competition under junior group, Fauzia Shakeel (CGHS), Zynah Arif (AMUGS) and Amina Hasan (AMUGS), respectively got the first, second and third prizes, while under the senior group (IX-XII), Mehvish (CGHS), Sumaiya Kayenat (AMUGS) and Sana Parveen (CGHS) received the first, second and third prizes, respectively.

Amber Mirza (CGHS), Madiha Masroor (AMUGS) and Sidra Ashraf (MUGS) won the first, second and third prizes, respectively, in the Poster Making Competition under the junior group, while under the senior group, firs, second and third prizes went to Azka (SSSG), Zoha Khan (AMUGS) and Sarah Waqar (AMUGS).

In the Slogan Writing Competition, Kulsum Shahid (CGHS), Somi Ali (AMUGS) and Zainab (CGHS)got the first, second and third prizes under junior group while Himanshi (AMUGS), Iqra Khan (SSSG) and Shaizatul Fatma (SSSG) won the first, second and third prizes under the senior group.

Meanwhile, the Ahmadi School for the Visually Challenged, Aligarh Muslim University organized intra-school activities under the G20 celebration programme, including the slogan writing, essay writing, logo making, Quiz and drawing competitions for students belonging to various classes under senior and junior groups.

The essay writing competition for senior group was held on “Significance of History in Governance”, while the junior group participants wrote essay on “Importance of Discipline in the life of Students”.

In the logo making competition (in Braille) under senior group, Kaif Chand (X) won the first prize and Md. Miraj Alam (X) got the second prize. Under the junior group, Bharti Yadav (VIII), Krishna Sharma (VIII) and Priya won the first, second and third prizes respectively.

In the Quiz competition team C, comprising Md. Miraj Alam and Sharib Ali, won the first prize. In the drawing completion (Flag making) under senior group, Kaif Chand (X) won the first prize, and Md. Miraj Alam (X) and Gulam Husain Khan (IX) won the second and third prizes respectively. Under the junior group, Kashish (VIII), Krishna Sharma (VIII) and Khushbu (VII) won the first, second and third prizes, respectively.

अलीगढ़, 18 मईः सीनियर सेकेंडरी स्कूल गर्ल्स, अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी की छात्र टीम ने जी20 प्रोग्राम के तहत एएमयू एबीके हाई स्कूल (गर्ल्स) द्वारा आयोजित इंटर स्कूल ग्रुप डिस्कशन प्रतियोगिता में प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त किया।

एएमयू एबीके हाई स्कूल गर्ल्स टीम दूसरे स्थान पर रही, जबकि एसटीएस स्कूल और आरएमपीएसए एएमयू सिटी स्कूल की टीमों ने तीसरा स्थान साझा किया।

कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि प्रोफेसर असफर अली खान, स्कूल शिक्षा निदेशक, एएमयू ने प्रतिभागियों को प्रोत्साहित किया और उनसे समाज में एक सार्थक भूमिका निभाने का आग्रह किया, क्योंकि दुनिया भारत के युवाओं को आशा की दृष्टि से देखती है। समाज को विकास के पथ पर ले जाने में केंद्रीय भूमिका

समूह चर्चा का पहला दौर प्रत्येक टीम द्वारा दी गई प्रस्तुति पर आधारित था, जबकि दूसरे दौर में प्रतिभागियों ने जलवायु परिवर्तन के विभिन्न पहलुओं पर अपने विचार व्यक्त किए। अंतिम दौर चर्चा के सारांश पर आधारित था।

न्यायाधीशों ने प्रतिभागियों के प्रदर्शन की सराहना की जिन्होंने स्पष्टता और आत्मविश्वास के साथ अपनी दलीलें पेश कीं।

इससे पहले एएमयूएबी हाई स्कूल गर्ल्स वाइस प्रिंसिपल डॉ. सबा हसन ने अतिथियों का स्वागत किया।

प्रतियोगिता में एएमयू के नौ स्कूलों ने भाग लिया, जिसमें सीनियर सेकेंडरी स्कूल बॉयज की श्रीमती आयशा इमरान और एसटीएस स्कूल की श्रीमती यास्मीन रिजवी ने जज के रूप में काम किया।

अलीगढ़, 20 मईः जी-20 शिखर सम्मेलन कार्यक्रमों की श्रृंखला के तहत एएमयू के इंटरडिसिप्लिनरी डिपार्टमेंट ऑफ रिमोट सेंसिंग एंड जीआईएस एप्लीकेशन ने “जियोस्पेशियल टूल्स फॉर वॉटर रिसोर्सेज एंड नेचुरल हैजर्ड्स मॉनिटरिंग” विषय पर ‘भारत का अंतरिक्ष कार्यक्रमः अतीत, वर्तमान और भविष्य’ विषय पर कार्यशाला तथा पोस्टर मेकिंग प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया।

उद्घाटन सत्र में डॉ. शहरयार खालिक अहमद, अनुसंधान वैज्ञानिक, जेट प्रोपल्शन लेबोरेटरी, नासा ने ‘अंतरिक्ष से पृथ्वी के जल चक्र की निगरानी’ पर एक मुख्य भाषण दिया। डॉ शहयार ने जंगल की आग और हाइड्रोलॉजिकल चक्र के बीच संबंधों और संवेदनशील क्षेत्रों में इन संबंधों को सुलझाने में भू-स्थानिक उपकरणों की भूमिका पर चर्चा की। डॉ यूनुस अली पी, आईआईएसईआर, मोहाली, पंजाब ने ‘जियोहैजार्ड्स की कैस्केडिंग चेन विषय पर एक मुख्य भाषण दिया। उन्होंने भू-स्थानिक डेटासेट के लिए मशीन-लर्निंग तकनीकों के अनुप्रयोग के लिए ओपन-सोर्स टूल के उपयोग का भी प्रदर्शन किया।

सम्मानित अतिथि प्रोफेसर काजी मजहर अली ने कृषि में अत्याधुनिक भू-स्थानिक उपकरणों और तकनीकों, विशेष रूप से ड्रोन-आधारित मानचित्रण के उपयोग के बारे में बात की। उन्होंने महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों पर एएमयू के प्रशासन की सहायता और मार्गदर्शन करने के साथ-साथ विश्वविद्यालय के साथ सरकारी एजेंसियों को सेवाएं प्रदान करने के लिए विभाग में कौशल और संसाधन विकसित करने में भू-स्थानिक तकनीकों के महत्व का भी उल्लेख किया।

कार्यशाला के संयोजक व रिमोट सेंसिंग और जीआईएस एप्लीकेशन के इंटरडिसिप्लिनरी विभाग के अध्यक्ष डॉ. हारिस हसन खान ने शिक्षण, अनुसंधान और उद्यमिता में सार्वजनिक डोमेन में उपलब्ध भू-स्थानिक उपकरणों और डेटासेट के महत्व पर जोर दिया।

कार्यशाला के सह-संरक्षक प्रो मोहम्मद अशरफ, डीन, विज्ञान संकाय ने कार्यशाला की अध्यक्षता की और पृथ्वी के संसाधनों की निगरानी में भू-स्थानिक प्रौद्योगिकी के महत्व के बारे में बात की।

पोस्टर प्रतियोगिता के विजेताओं को सह-संरक्षक और सम्मानित अतिथि आदि ने स्मृति चिन्ह और प्रमाण पत्र वितरित किए।

अलीगढ़, 23 मईः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के अर्थशास्त्र विभाग आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव (एकेएएम) और जी20 कार्यक्रमों की श्रृखला में विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस 2023 को चिह्नित करने के लिए एक भव्य कार्यक्रम का आयोजन प्रोफेसर मोहम्मद अब्दुस सलाम, विभाग के अध्यक्ष के नेतृत्व और डॉ. शिरीन रईस, सहायक प्रोफेसर के समन्वयन में किया जा रहा है।

23-24 मई, 2023 को प्लास्टिक प्रदूषण पर केन्द्रित पर्यावरण विषयों पर वृत्तचित्र फिल्मों की स्क्रीनिंग की जायेगी। इसके अतिरिक्त, 1 जून को छतारी गांव में स्वस्थ पर्यावरण वातावरण को बढ़ावा देने के उद्देश्य से एक आउटरीच कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया जाएगा।

अलीगढ़, 23 मईः एएमयू एबीके हाई स्कूल गर्ल्स द्वारा विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में बेस्ट आउट ऑफ वेस्ट, फेस पेंटिंग और विश्व पहेली प्रतियोगिताओं आदि सहित कई गतिविधियों का आयोजन किया जा रहा है।

अपशिष्ट उत्पादों से अधिकतम व्यावहारिक लाभ प्राप्त करने और न्यूनतम मात्रा में अपशिष्ट उत्पन्न करने के उद्देश्य से छात्रों ने बेस्ट आउट ऑफ वेस्ट गतिविधि में सक्रिय रूप से भाग लिया।

9वीं और 10वीं कक्षा के छात्रों ने नागरिकों को पर्यावरण को बनाए रखने और उसकी रक्षा करने की बढ़ती आवश्यकता पर फेस पेंटिंग प्रतियोगिता में भाग लिया। जायमा अर्श, तूबा जिया, विशाखा अत्री, कनक, नेकवर्ण, मंतशा, अरीबा, जुनैरा, सामिया, अनमता, उज्मा, ओशीन, गरिमा और अतिका ने इस कार्यक्रम में भाग लिया।

विश्व पहेली प्रतियोगिता में कक्षा 8वीं की छात्राओं ने लिया भाग लिया जबकि कक्षा 7वीं की छात्राओं ने उत्साहपूर्वक आउटडोर स्केवेंजर हंट में भाग लिया।

23 मई को कक्षा 9वीं और 10वीं के छात्रों द्वारा एक विशेष मॉर्निंग असेंबली आयोजित की गई। जिसमें छात्राओं द्वारा एक मनोरंजक स्किट प्रस्तुत की गई जिसमें सिंगल यूज प्लास्टिक के हानिकारक प्रभावों पर प्रकाश डाला गया और इसके उपयोग से बचने के लिए विभिन्न उपायों के बारे में बताया गया।

प्राइमरी सेक्शन में भी विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में पोस्टर मेकिंग और फेस पेंटिंग प्रतियोगिताएं आयोजित की गईं।

वाइस प्रिंसिपल डॉ सबा हसन ने छात्राओं को पर्यावरण को स्वच्छ और हरा-भरा रखने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया।

अलीगढ़, 3 जूनः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के सेंटर फॉर ग्रीन एंड रिन्यूएबल एनर्जी द्वारा एसटीएस स्कूल में विश्वविद्यालय के विभिन्न स्कूलों के छात्रों और शिक्षकों के लिए ग्लोबल वार्मिंग और सतत विकास की आवश्यकता सहित पर्यावरणीय चुनौतियों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के उद्देश्य से एक विशेष कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया।

प्रोफेसर मोहम्मद रिहान, एमआईसी, बिजली विभाग और समन्वयक, सेंटर फॉर ग्रीन एंड रिन्यूएबल एनर्जी ने प्रतिभागियों को ग्लोबल वार्मिंग की चुनौती और सतत विकास की आवश्यकता के बारे में अवगत कराया। उन्होंने कहा कि ‘मिशन लाइफ’ का प्रचार भी विश्वविद्यालय में आयोजित होने वाले जी-20 कार्यक्रमों का एक हिस्सा है।

मिशन लाइफ के महत्व पर प्रकाश डालते हुए, प्रो रिहान ने कहा कि यह भारत के नेतृत्व वाला वैश्विक जन आंदोलन है और 1 नवंबर 2021 को ग्लासगो में पार्टियों के सम्मेलन (कोप26) में प्रधान मंत्री द्वारा पेश किया गया था जिसमें संसाधनों के सचेत और विवेकपूर्ण उपयोग के लिए एक जन आंदोलन के रूप में पर्यावरण के संरक्षण को बढ़ावा देने कि बात कही गयी थी।

उन्होंने बताया कि भारत संयुक्त राष्ट्र में प्रस्तुत राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर निर्धारित योगदानों में लाइफ को शामिल करने वाला पहला देश है। छात्रों को बताया गया कि भारत की स्वतंत्रता के 75वें वर्ष में मिशन लाइफ लॉन्च किया गया था जिसके अंतर्गत 7 श्रेणियों में 75 व्यक्तिगत लाइफ कार्यों की पहचान की गई थी। प्रो रिहान ने कहा कि यह कार्य विशिष्ट और मापने योग्य हैं और व्यक्तियों, समुदायों और संस्थानों द्वारा इसका अभ्यास करना आसान है।

इन कार्यों के कुछ उदाहरण जो उन्होंने प्रतिभागियों के साथ साझा किए, उनमें एलईडी बल्ब/ट्यूब-लाइट का कम उपयोग करना, प्राकृतिक दिन के उजाले का अधिकतम उपयोग, सही गियर में गाड़ी चलाना, उपयोग में न होने पर उपकरणों को प्लग पॉइंट से बंद करना, जल-कुशल उपकरणों का उपयोग करना, एयर कंडीशनर का तापमान 24 डिग्री पर रखना और खरीदारी के लिए प्लास्टिक की थैलियों के बजाय कपड़े के थैलों का उपयोग करना आदि शामिल है।

प्रोफेसर रिहान ने मिशन लाइफ पर अभिनव ए टू जेड पुस्तिका और पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्रालय (एमओईएफसीसी) द्वारा प्रकाशित प्रचार वीडियो को भी शिक्षकों के साथ साझा किया और छात्रों के साथ बातचीत में इसका उपयोग करने का अनुरोध किया।

प्रोफेसर रिहान ने जागरूकता सत्र आयोजित करने में सहायता के लिए प्रोफेसर असफर अली खान, निदेशक, स्कूल शिक्षा और श्री फैसल नफीस, प्रिंसिपल, एसटीएस स्कूल को धन्यवाद दिया।

अलीगढ़ 7 जूनः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के भाषाविज्ञान विभाग एवं अर्थशास्त्र विभाग द्वारा भारत की जी20 अध्यक्षता जश्न के तहत जी-20 श्रृंखला के कार्यक्रमों की श्रृंखला में अनेक कार्यक्रम आयोजित किये गये।

भाषा विज्ञान विभाग में आयोजित पेंटिंग प्रतियोगिता के मुकाबलों में सौम्या आबिदी (रिसर्च स्कॉलर) ने जी-20 थीम ‘वन अर्थ, वन फैमिली, वन फ्यूचर’ पर पेंटिंग प्रतियोगिता में पहला पुरस्कार जीता, जो ‘वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम’ के संदेश को दर्शाता है। अफशां सिद्दीकी (एमए) को दूसरा पुरस्कार मिला, जबकि मिताली वाष्र्णेय और अब्दुल मुनीम खान (एमए के छात्रों) ने तीसरा पुरस्कार साझा किया।

पुरस्कार वितरण समारोह को संबोधित करते हुए भाषाविज्ञान विभाग के अध्यक्ष प्रोफेसर एमजे वारसी ने कहा कि जी20 सभी प्रमुख अंतरराष्ट्रीय आर्थिक मुद्दों को मजबूत करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है। उन्होंने कहा कि जी-20 समूह के सदस्य वैश्विक सकल घरेलू उत्पाद का लगभग 85 प्रतिशत, वैश्विक व्यापार का 75 प्रतिशत से अधिक और विश्व की आबादी के लगभग दो-तिहाई का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हैं।

अर्थशास्त्र विभाग ने जी20 और आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव पहल के तहत लाइफ मिशन को चिन्हित करते हुए विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस मनाने के लिए कार्यक्रमों की एक श्रृंखला का आयोजन किया।

विभागाध्यक्ष, प्रो मो. अब्दुस सलाम ने कहा कि विभाग द्वारा लाइफ शपथ ग्रहण समारोह, पर्यावरण पर एक वृत्तचित्र फिल्म की स्क्रीनिंग, एक आउटरीच कार्यक्रम और निबंध लेखन, पोस्टर मेकिंग, स्लोगन राइटिंग और फोटोग्राफी में चार ऑनलाइन प्रतियोगिताओं सहित कई कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया गया और विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताओं के विजेताओं को पुरस्कार वितरण समारोह में लगभग 100 पुरस्कारों से सम्मानित किया गया।

अलीगढ़, 7 जूनः अलीगढ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय की फैकल्टी ऑफ लॉ में बीए एलएल.बी (ऑनर्स) कर रही चैथे वर्ष की छात्रा अफीफा सुल्तान को हाल ही में भारत की अग्रणी टियर-1 लॉ फर्मों में से एक ट्राईलीगल से प्री-प्लेसमेंट ऑफर प्राप्त हुआ है। सुश्री अफीफा सुल्तान को फर्म द्वारा यह ऑफर दो इंटर्नशिप सफलतापूर्वक पूरा करने के बाद मिला है। उन्हें 2024 में स्नातक होने के बाद एक वकील के रूप में बैंगलोर में ट्राईलीगल की दूरसंचार, मीडिया और प्रौद्योगिकी (टीएमटी) टीम में शामिल होने के लिए आमंत्रित किया गया है।

अलीगढ़ 13 जूनः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के बीएड के छात्र निशांत भारद्वाज ने ‘वर्तमान दुनिया में प्रकृति के साथ एक नैतिक संबंध ही जलवायु परिवर्तन को कम करने में मदद कर सकता है’ विषय पर आयोजित राष्ट्रीय हिंदी डिबेट में दूसरा पुरस्कार प्राप्त किया है।

उन्होंने भारत के जी20 प्रेसीडेंसी का जश्न मनाने के लिए दून विश्वविद्यालय, देहरादून और उत्तराखंड राज्य विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी परिषद, देहरादून द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से आयोजित गौरा देवी राष्ट्रीय मेमोरियल राष्ट्रीय वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता में विश्वविद्यालय वाद-विवाद और साहित्य क्लब का प्रतिनिधित्व किया था। इस प्रतियोगिता में देश के 31 विश्वविद्यालयों के 62 प्रतिभावान छात्रों ने भाग लिया।

अलीगढ़, 13 जूनः अलीगढ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के वनस्पति विज्ञान विभाग द्वारा भारत सरकार की वाई20 पहल के तहत यूनिवर्सिटी एक्सटेंशन लेक्चर का आयोजन किया गया। इस कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य भारत की जी20 अध्यक्षता और विभाग के शताब्दी वर्ष का जश्न मनाना है। ‘सतत गहनता के माध्यम से खाद्य और पोषण सुरक्षा और बाजरा’ विषय पर आयोजित व्याख्यान में शिक्षकों, शोधार्थियों और छात्रों ने बड़ी संख्या में भाग लिया।

इस अवसर पर वक्ता, प्रो. पी.वी. वारा प्रसाद, कंसास स्टेट यूनिवर्सिटी, यूएसए ने खाद्य और पोषण सुरक्षा से संबंधित महत्वपूर्ण पहलुओं पर गहनता और बाजरा की भूमिका पर जोर दिया। उन्होंने उपज के अंतर, फसल के बाद के नुकसान और जलवायु परिवर्तन से उत्पन्न चुनौतियों सहित कई अहम मुद्दों पर चर्चा की।

प्रो. प्रसाद ने गर्मी और सूखे के तनाव का सामना करने, विविध पर्यावरणीय परिस्थितियों के अनुकूल होने, पानी की कम आवश्यकता और उच्च पोषण सामग्री के लिए बाजरा की क्षमता पर प्रकाश डाला। उन्होंने कहा कि ये विशेषताएँ बाजरा को स्थायी कृषि के लिए एक आदर्श विकल्प के रूप में स्थापित करती हैं।

वाई20 इंडिया की संचार सचिव सुश्री आर्य झा ने भारत की जी20 अध्यक्षता के तहत वाई20 कार्यक्रम में अंतर्दृष्टि प्रदान की। उन्होंने कहा कि जी20 सदस्य देशों के युवाओं के लिए संवाद में शामिल होने के लिए वाई20 एक आधिकारिक मंच के रूप प्रदान करता है।

फैकल्टी ऑफ लाइफ साइंसेज के डीन, प्रो. मोहम्मद अफजाल ने एक कविता के छंदों का पाठ किया, जो आम लोगों को सीधे लाभ पहुंचाने वाले अनुसंधान प्रयासों के व्यवहारिक अनुप्रयोगों और सामाजिक प्रभाव को रेखांकित करता है।

विभाग के अध्यक्ष और कार्यक्रम के समन्वयक प्रो. एम. बदरूज्जमां सिद्दीकी ने विभाग के शताब्दी पुराने इतिहास और महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धियों पर प्रकाश डाला।

Aligarh, June 13: The Cricket and Swimming Clubs of the University Games Committee, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) are organizing summer coaching camps for the school students of Aligarh district.

Prof. S. Amjad Ali Rizvi, Secretary, University Games Committee informed that the 20^th summer coaching camp for school boys of Aligarh district will be held at the Willingdon Cricket Pavilion of the University and no fee will be charged from the students.

He further said that the trial for the summer camp will be held on 1^st July 2023 at 3 pm. Forms are available at AMU website and the last date for submission of the form is June 30, 2023, till 12 noon. The application form should be attested by the Principal of the concerned school.

Meanwhile, the President of the Swimming Club Dr Jameel Ahmad informed that a three weeks Swimming Summer Coaching Camp for the girls and boys will be held at the Meston Swimming Pool from June 17, 2023.

“The girls will attend the coaching between 7 am to 8 am, while the boys will be trained from 9 am to 10 am. The fee for the summer camp is Rs. 1000”, he added.

ALIGARH June 16: In order to celebrate India’s Presidency of G20 Summit and as part of a series of programmes organized at the Aligarh Muslim University in this connection, the Urdu Academy, AMU held an educational programme to spread awareness about various aspects of the summit and the related aspects, themed on ."Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam".

The Director of the Academy, Prof Qamarul Huda Faridi highlighted the various issues pertaining to the G20 summit and what it meant for India to preside over the grand event.

The chief guest, Dr. Shams Tabrez Khan (Department of Agricultural Sciences) underscored the significance of the G20 summit in addressing the issues of global warming. He said we should use all the available tools to make the world a better place to live.

Prof Zaki Anwar, Incharge, Land and Garden, Prof Tariq Chatari, Dr. Sarfraz Anwer and Dr. Moid Rashidi graced the occasion as the guests of honour.

Prof Tariq Chhatari read out one of his stories and Dr. Sarfraz and Dr. Moid Rasheedi presented their poems to mark the occasion.

Dr. Rafiuddin gave a lecture on G20 stating that India will host over 200 meetings in about 50 cities across 32 different work streams, and the grand event will provide the G20 delegates to experience India and know it from close portals.

ALIGARH June 19: Begum Azeezun Nisa Hall for the girl students, Aligarh Muslim University organized a series of public health awareness programmes to mark India’s G20 Presidency under the theme "Health, Hygiene and Nutrition: Essentials for Women".

In her welcome address, Prof. Subuhi Khan, Provost of the hall said that the aim of the event is to create awareness among women regarding female health issues and highlight the importance of maintaining good hygiene and nutrition level, which is necessary for their well-being and development.

The programme focused on making women aware of their empowerment related issues, especially helping them to attain physical, mental, emotional, social and economic contentment in life, she added.

The resource person, Dr. Fatima Khan, Department of Microbiology, JN Medical College gave a presentation on "Anemia and Menstrual Hygiene", while the Non-resident Warden, Dr. Bushra Hasan Khan (Department of Pharmacology) presented a talk on "Reproductive Health Awareness among Females". Dr. Aprajita Mishra (Senior Resident, Department of Pharmacology) conducted a discussion on "Breast Cancer Awareness".

Several other interactive games and fun sessions, including a Nukkad Natak were organized, highlighting the problem of anemia in young girls. Some basic pathological tests, including the Hemoglobin, blood pressure measurements, etc., were also carried out free of cost, for female staff of the hall and other participants.

The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates of participation and vote of thanks by Dr. Bushra Hasan Khan. Ms. Rafeedda Siddiqui, Resident Warden provided the technical support.

ALIGARH June 19: The final year BDS students at Dr Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University held a hand hygiene demonstration programme under the Jan Bhagidari programme to mark India’s G20 Presidency.

The BDS students – Zaid, Areeba, Shivani and Nadeem led the demonstration, highlighting key hand hygiene practices such as hand washing with soap, sanitizing and maintaining proper hand care.

The demonstration aimed at raising awareness about the importance of hand hygiene in preventing the spread of diseases and maintaining overall well-being.

Professor N. D. Gupta, who supervised the event and provided valuable insights into the significance of hand hygiene in maintaining a healthy population, said that with the ongoing global health crisis, this initiative aligned perfectly with India's G20 Presidency agenda, focusing on health, wellness, and sustainable development.

Aligarh, June 26: In the series of events and programmes celebrating India’s G20 Presidency, the Sir Syed Academy, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized a symposium wherein speakers delineated the major theme and concerns of G20 forum and the role of India in taking up the issues of the local and global concern on behalf of the developing countries. An introductory book in Urdu entitled “G20 –Ek Taaruf” by Dr Asad Faisal Farooqui was also released on the occasion for raising awareness about G20 and relevance of India’s Presidency.

Presiding over the symposium, Prof Mohammad Gulrez, Vice Chancellor, AMU said that G20 gives access to developing and developed countries to come together and devise pragmatic strategies to work on sustainability, climate change, food security, conflict resolution and other issues faced by the world. “We have to make a pledge for posterity and promote dialogues among nations for solving problems faced by humanity and resolving disputes among nations”, Prof Gulrez urged.

He said that India is home to philosophies that emphasise brotherhood and co-existence and the theme of the G20 Summit is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ which means the entire world is truly just one family.

Prof Gulrez also mentioned the thesis of ‘clash of civilizations’ propounded by Hutington in 1993, calling it a dangerous philosophy. “The concerns of the world are the same for every country and nation and dialogue is the only way out for reaching mutually beneficial conclusions” he emphasized.

The Chief Guest of the symposium, Prof Aquil Ahmad, Director, NCPUL, New Delhi said that India’s rich philosophy offers solutions to the problems of mankind. “The world is facing problems including climate change, poverty, depletion of resources and war etc., and India can play a role in resolving them”, he said.

Prof Ahmad described the relevance of the theme “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” in detail and what it means for the word.

The Guest of Honour, Mr. Mohammad Imran IPS, Registrar, AMU spoke about the need to contribute for the success of the programmes like Mission LiFE, Swachh Bharat Mission etc. and briefed about the activities undertaken by the university including organizing awareness marches, safeguarding water bodies and plantation drives.

“India’s G20 Presidency is an opportunity for us to take a start on mission mode and collaborate with G20 on learning and topics of mutual interest”, AMU Registrar said.

Speaking on the theme, Prof Mohammad Asim Siddiqui, Chairman, Department of English, AMU said, India has strong soft power, which includes art, literature, philosophy and culture. This soft power can exert great influence and shape the world order in different ways. He mentioned several thinkers and philosophers who have influenced the world. “Social sciences and literature offer important perspectives to question things and generate a new thinking which leads us to go beyond our narrow concerns”, he added.

Prof Mohibul Haq, Department of Political Science, AMU pointed out that India’s G20 Presidency is a moment of pride for us and there is a lot of hope since India can speak for the global south on issues like poverty and hunger. He critically analysed various dimensions of G20 and how capitalism, and neoliberalism are shaping the world order.

“In the backdrop of the struggle for power and dominance, India through G20 is trying to highlight that cooperation is the key and peace has to travel beyond the Middle East and Latin America” he said.

Prof Haq also praised India’s foreign policy by mentioning that India did not abandon Russia when NATO imposed sanctions on it in the wake of Ukraine invasion.

Highlighting the usefulness of the monograph on G20 in Urdu, Prof Shafey Kidwai, Department of Mass Communication, AMU said that Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the founder of AMU launched Aligarh Institute Gazette in 1866 and wrote on international relations, the ideas of John Stuart Mill, an influential English philosopher of the nineteenth century and other such topics. “The publication of an Urdu monograph on G20 is the continuation of the tradition started by Sir Syed for enlightening oriental languages readers”, he said.

Prof Razaullah Khan, former Principal, ZHCET, AMU added a note of caution saying that G20 should not remain a club of rich and powerful countries. “Instead, the focus should be on raising the concerns of the poor countries which remain under-represented in the international forums and have no say on issues related to their livelihood and exploitation of natural resources'', he said, urging to maintain equilibrium and balance on earth and utilization of resources.

Earlier, welcoming the guests and speakers, Prof Ali Mohammad Naqvi, Director, Sir Syed Academy said that 80 percent of the world economy is rotated through G20 countries. “Today the economic power has more value and weight as the world is becoming multipolar and the monopoly of traditional powers is withering away. In this context G20 is a big forum for international cooperation and collaborations”, Prof Naqvi highlighted.

He informed that in the series of 5 monographs on G20, the first monograph by Asad Faisal Farooqui is being released today.

Proposing a vote of thanks, Dr. Mohammad Shahid, Deputy Director, Sir Syed Academy said that ‘G20 - Sir Syed Memorial Lecture’ and an international seminar on G20 will be organized in the month of July and August 2023 respectively.

Padma Bhushan: Mr Shyam Saran delivers G-20 Sir Syed Memorial Lecture

In a gathering of distinguished minds, the highly anticipated G-20 Sir Syed Memorial Lecture on the topic: “India and West Asia : How India’s Western Neighborhood is Changing and Impacting on India's Foreign Policy”, took place today at Aligarh Muslim University . The venue JNMC Auditorium was abuzz with excitement as Mr. Shyam Saran, a seasoned diplomat and Padma Bhushan awardee, graced the stage as the distinguished speaker.

In his opening remark Mr. Saran said that this a special occasion as the Nation is hosting the G-20 Summit which reaffirms India’s role at the International Arena. He emphasized that Sir Syed Ahmad Khan was not only the founder of AMU the historic Institution, but he was also a crusader for emancipating minds through pursuit of knowledge.

Talking about the latest developments that are taking place in West Asia, he said this is the region where Islam was born and flourished across the world including India; “I see the changes taking place in both the Sunni World Centred in Saudi Arabia and the Shia World Centred in Iran. These Changes encompass society and culture, politics and economics and these in turn are re-orienting the foreign policies of West Asian states. They are changing the manner in which other states are engaging West Asia. India has to be vigilant about the huge shift in the neighborhood”, he added.

Pointing on the energy revolution, he said this region sits on the largest pool of oil and every producer is deeply committed to economic diversification and Saudi Arabia is leading the way. Climate Change is accentuating the shift away from fossil fuels and it is the gulf kingdoms which are aspiring to become leaders in renewable energy. India must now adjust to the fact that these economies are in the midst of significant economic restructuring and that entirely new opportunities are opening up for expanded partnership between India and West Asian countries.

Saudi Arabia is promoting tourism and for that pre-Islamic sites are being renovated and restored. Dubai is a model for Saudi Arabia, which has been an outlier in the region in respect of its cosmopolitanism. The other region witnessing change is Iran, he remarked.

Talking about the diplomatic dimension he said; there are nine million Indians who live and work in the Middle East and the remittances they send to India are substantial. The UAE and Saudi Arabia have become major resources of foreign investment in India. India also has important security stakes in the eastern as well as western regions of the Indian Ocean. The normalization of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia is the most significant development.  

He said, India has pursued a bilateral and to some extent a transactional approach in managing its relations with the countries of West Asia and this has been quite successful. It has been able to expand its relations with the Arab states even while consolidating and expanding its relations with Israel. India's foreign policy in West Asia has been justifiably applauded as having been successful in reinforcing its historic and cultural ties with the countries of the region, he added.

I see a more exciting phase unfolding in West Asia, one which could multiply opportunities for India, but only if we remain ahead of the learning curve of a more complex and transformational change taking place in India's western neighborhood, Mr Saran concluded.

Presiding over the event, the Vice-Chancellor of AMU, Prof. Mohammad Gulrez, expressed his delight at the presence of Mr. Shyam Saran and the opportunity to gain invaluable insights into India's foreign policy. Prof. Gulrez emphasized the significance of this lecture series in fostering intellectual discourse and deepening understanding among the academic community and beyond.

Inviting Mr. Saran to visit the university again Prof. Gulrez said “whoever drinks from the Nile, will always return to it. This is also true for Aligarh Muslim University”.

The Registrar of AMU Mr. Mohammad Imran (IPS) briefly introduced Mr. Shyam Saran and highlighted his significant contribution to the multilateral economic , climate change, energy security and other strategic areas central to India’s foreign policy.

In his welcome address Director, Sir Syed Academy Prof Ali Mohammad Naqvi said AMU has played a significant role in fostering India’s relationship with West Asian countries. Dr. Mohammad Shahid, the Deputy Director, the Academy, while offering vote of thanks said Sir Syed Academy will continue to play a pivotal role in promoting intellectual and cultural activities.

Aligarh, August 3: The Department of Jarahat, Faculty of Unani Medicine, AMU Aligarh, will organize a National Symposium "Updates in Ilmul Jarahat (Surgery)" on August 5 in a Hybrid Mode at PG Seminar Hall. According to the Chairman Prof Tafseer Ali, the symposium aims to provide cutting-edge insights and advancements in Ilmul Jarahat (Surgery) to teachers, PG Scholars, and research Departments of Unani Medical Colleges.

The event is  a part  of symposiums, coinciding with the G20 summit presidency celebration.

ALIGARH August 3: The plantation drive at the Aligarh Muslim University under the nationwide plantation programme, continued with vigour and enthusiasm.

The ABK High School (Girls) organized a plantation drive in association with the Humsafar Educational and Social Welfare Society, Aligarh.

Dr Manzoor, a Retired teacher of Food Craft Institute, along with Dr Zulfiqar, Founder, Mrs Shabnam, Joint Secretary and Mr Shahrukh, Associate Member of the Humsafar Society participated in the plantation drive and urged the students and teachers of the school to work for the conservation of the environment and educate the people to keep the climate clean by planting trees. Dr Manzoor guided students on how to sow seeds and plants.

Earlier, welcoming the guests, the Vice Principal, Dr Saba Hasan said that it is the duty of every person in society to safeguard the environment from polluting materials and young students have a big role in spreading awareness for environmental protection.

She said that saplings of Kanher, Sagwan, Papdi, Arjun, Harsingar, Balam Kheera, etc, were planted on school premises. The students made charts and banners highlighting the importance of the plantation drive.

The Principal, AMU ABK High School, Dr Samina extended a vote of thanks.

ALIGARH August 7: The Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology, Aligarh Muslim University organized a satellite symposium of the Endocrine Society of India on “Contemporary Endocrinology” under the celebration of India’s Presidency of G-20 Summit.

Addressing the inaugural function, the chief guest, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Mohammad Gulrez stressed the need to conduct such programmes at regular intervals to increase awareness among people regarding chronic diseases like diabetes mellitus. He emphasized that the doctors and professionals working in this area need to keep updating their knowledge as new evidences are coming up every day.

The President-Elect, Endocrine Society of India, Prof. P.K Jabbar shed light on the progressive journey of the Society from 10 to more thousand members now. He spoke about its role in promoting research in the field of diabetes and endocrinology.

Prof. Jamal Ahamd, Former Director of the Centre, stated that the centre fulfills all the norms of the National Medical Commission to start DM (Endocrinology) programme and it should apply for this at the earliest.

Prof. Sheelu Shafiq Siddiqi, Former Director of the Centre, delivered the welcomed address.

Earlier, discussing the thrust areas of the symposium, Dr. Hamid Ashraf, Director of the Centre, said that eminent faculty and experts from all over the country pondered over various aspects of the topic, including thyroid disorders, diabetes mellitus, metabolic bone diseases, pediatric Endocrinology and Women's Endocrinology. 

He said that the process of starting the DM programme has already been started. He urged the professionals and medical workers to educate diabetes patients regarding new IT based developments in controlling the disease.

He thanked the Endocrine Society of India for providing the opportunity and the necessary support to host the satellite symposium.

The garden exemplifies the concept of sustainable development, reinforcing India's global commitment to a greener future.

Prof. Gulrez praised the Land and Garden team for their outstanding efforts in creating the garden, which harmoniously connects with the G20's theme, "One Earth, One Family, One Future," and Mission LiFE, advocating a pro-planet orientation. For the students this would be a kind of "Knowledge Park" since the park has flag signs and plantations of G20 countries and of the European Union, he added.

The G20 Garden serves as a platform where recreation, nature appreciation, and education on crucial global themes will converge. Prof. Gulrez called it a powerful global call for solidarity among governments, international organizations, private businesses, academia, civil society, and individuals to collectively strive for a sustainable and equitable future.

AMU Inaugurates Week-long Workshop on Spoken English

Aligarh, August 8 :  To mark India's Presidency of the G-20 Summit and in the spirit of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Centre of Continuing and Adult Education and Extension at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has commenced a Two Week Workshop on Spoken English, scheduled from August 7 to August 12.

Presiding over the function, Vice Chancellor Prof. Mohammad Gulrez applauded the organizers' efforts and encouraged learners to master English for enhanced career opportunities. He emphasized the importance of effective communication, citing examples from films and urged participants to strive for proficiency.

Guest of Honour, Prof. Mohammad Asim Siddiqui, suggested that learners engage with commentaries, news, and media sources to facilitate language learning.

ALIGARH August 9: The Ahmadi School for the Visually Challenged, Aligarh Muslim University organized a G20 Logo Making competition to mark the Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA) under Catch the Rain drive 2023 with the theme “Source Sustainability for Drinking Water”.

Principal of the school, Dr. Naila Rashid said that 12 students in four groups participated in the competition and made awareness based posters depicting the G20 logo in different ways.

ALIGARH August 10: The Department of Pharmacology, JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University organized an Indo-Saudi Pharma Symposium on ‘Research Avenues’ as a part of the celebratory programmes being held in AMU to mark India’s Presidency of G-20 Summit.

Prof Mohammad Asif Hussain, Biomedical Engineering Options, Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, King Abdul Aziz University, KSA, shed light on the new developments in biomedical research and discussed his projects on nanotechnology, three-dimensional nanomaterials and other biomaterials used as various medical applications to support, enhance or replace damaged tissue or a biological function.

Dr Ishrat Rahman, Department of Pharmacology, Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University, KSA, shared her views on newer entities in oral cancer research, green phytonutrients and pre-clinical drug and vaccine development.

Dr Misbahuddin Rafiq, Department of Pharmacology, King Abdul Aziz University, KSA, highlighted the importance of research in his academic career and shared his experience of managing independent research grants in KSA. He underlined the significance of his research in an integrated approach to clinical therapeutics using pharmacogenomics tools, with a special focus on diabetes, cardiovascular and respiratory disorders.

Earlier, welcoming the guests, Prof Syed Ziaur Rahman, Chairman, Department of Pharmacology, underscored the need for holding the symposium, especially for the young students.

Aligarh, August 12: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is ablaze with fervor as it embraces the "Meri Maati Mera Desh" campaign, a cornerstone of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and the G20 summit celebration. An array of captivating events has been orchestrated, with a profound emphasis on "Jan Bhagidari "– collective participation.

The Department of Social Work at AMU orchestrated a pledge event for both faculty members and students. Professor Naseem Ahmad Khan, Chairperson of the Department, inaugurated the "PANCH PRAN PLEDGE," uniting attendees in a shared commitment to comprehend the campaign's essence and pay homage to martyred freedom fighters.

Continuing the patriotic momentum, the Department of Urdu conducted a program under the "Meri Maati Mera Desh" banner. Faculty members, students, and research scholars united to pledge towards propelling India into a self-reliant future by 2047, eradicating vestiges of colonial thinking, exulting in our rich heritage, bolstering unity, venerating defenders of our land, and diligently executing duties as citizens. Prof. Mohamed Quamrul Hooda Faridi, the department's Chairman, illuminated the significance of freedom struggle literature through an insightful talk and an inspiring exhibition.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) coordinator Dr Arshad Husain informed that an ambitious week-long extravaganza from August 11 to 17 has started, commemorating Independence Day. This initiative, as part of the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsava, culminates on August 30, when the Prime Minister of India gathers soil from diverse corners of the nation to establish an "Amrit Vatika" at Kartavya Path, New Delhi." ALIGARH August 14: The Aligarh Muslim University institutions and offices, including colleges, departments of studies and schools are celebrating various Pre-Independence Day events under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, initiated by the Government of India, to get the young students acquainted with the great historical events that finally led to the independence of the country on August 15, 1947.

The AMU City Girls' High School organized an interactive session for the students with a medical professional and a school alumna, Dr Iram Alam, on "Health and Wellness", marking the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav".

Dr Alam, who is working with the BLX Max Hospital, shared her memories of school days and motivated the students to follow their dreams and work hard to achieve them. She urged them to learn, revise and recall, her mantra for success in life.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) organized a Prabhat Pheri at the dawn of the day on August 14 from the university’s Centenary Gate to Baab-e-Syed.

Dr. Arshad Husain, Programme Coordinator, NSS administered a pledge, “Panch Prana”, to the participants, including programme officers, office staff and student volunteers.

The Centre for Skill Development and Career Planning, Women's College, AMU organized events to celebrate the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and Meri Mati Mera Desh, marking India’s presidency of the G-20 summit.

On this occasion, the Panch Prana pledge was taken by the staff, trainers and students.

The centre also organized a competition on Indian Outfit Illustration, inspired by the national flag ‘Tiranga’. A total of 23 students of the Fashion Illustration Course participated in the event. Prof. Nigar Zuberi was the special guest, and the event was judged by Ms Ikra Salim, Women’s Polytechnic.

Ms. Sajida Parveen won the first prize while the second and third prizes went to Ms. Areeba Hasan and Ms. Habiba Nadeem, respectively.

Prof Naima Khatoon, Director of the Centre, urged the students to participate in the national events with vigour as it will help spread the love for the nation among the common people and instil the spirit of patriotism.  The events were coordinated by the Student Counselor, Dr Samreen Hasan Khan.

The AMU ABK High School (Girls) held several events as part of the “Meri Mati Mera Desh” and “Har Ghar Tiranga'' campaigns and observed the 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day'. The events included a special morning assembly, a Panch Prana pledge, a selfie with Tiranga, a Partition Horror exhibition, a plantation drive and an art exhibition displaying models and charts made by the students.

At the Abdullah School, “Meri Mati Mera Desh” campaign was observed with a special focus on “Jan Bhagidari” under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and India’s G20 presidency.

The staff and students took a pledge as per the “Panch Prana” under the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign and participated in the plantation drive led by the Superintendent of the school, Ms Umra Zaheer, who also administered the pledge.

At the Department of Botany, the faculty members and students took a “Panch Prana” pledge to express allegiance to the spirit, “Meri Maati Mera desh”. 

At the Department of Commerce, “Meri Maati, Mera Desh” campaign was observed with great dedication and the students and faculty members, including Prof Mohd Nasir Zameer (Dean, Faculty of Commerce), Prof S.M. Imamul Haque (Chairman, Department of Commerce) and Dr Nagma Azhar (Coordinator) participated in the celebratory programmes including “Maati Ko Naman” and “Veeron Ka Bandhan”.

Meanwhile, under the observance of 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day', the Department of English, in collaboration with the Raleigh Literary Society, organised an awareness programme to observe Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, as mandated by the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Education, Government of India.

A documentary film was screened about the horrors of partition and the agony and suffering of millions that it caused. The documentary was aimed at imbibing the viewers with the spirit of solemnity and remembrance of the horrors of partition.

In his address on the occasion, the Chairperson of the Department, Prof Mohammad Asim Siddiqui stressed the importance of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day and underscored its special significance for students of literature and humanities.

The Coordinator of the Raleigh Literary Society, Mr Danish Iqbal highlighted the relevance of partition horror stories in literary studies across various Indian languages.

The postgraduate students Sidrah Noor and Mohd Ashhar Ali presented poems on the subject and a choir performance was made by a group of students including Mohammad Bilal, Asra Tariq, Warisha Ahmad, Aaisha Babar, Dimple Singh, Adeeb Sultan and Fariha Kafeel.

The Partition Horrors Remembrance Day programme was held at the Centre for Professional Development of Urdu Teachers (Urdu Academy) with mass participation of teachers, non-teaching staff, research scholars and students.

Highlighting the relevance of the programme, Prof Quamrul Hooda Fairid, Director of the Centre, said that the programme is aimed at remembering the sufferings of the common people during the partition days as a large number of families were displaced and many people perished in the partition process. He said the programme will help enhance the spirit of unity, peace, and personal empowerment by instilling a sense of belongingness in people.

A number of books and photographs related to the freedom struggle and partition were put on display at an exhibition.

The centre also held events including the Panch Prana pledge, quiz and a lecture on Meri Mati Mera Desh by Dr Rafiuddin.

The Department of Home Science organized a sensitization programme to make the new generation aware of the horrors of the partition. Dr Saba Khan underscored the sufferings of the people during the partition days and highlighted the role of freedom fighters in dousing the fire. An audio-visual presentation on partition horrors was made by Iram Naz.

The Women’s College observed the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day with the ‘Fine Arts Section’ and the ‘Women’s College Literary Society’ screening an exhibition curated by the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) and Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA). The exhibition was presented by Dr Mushtaq Wani.

Ramsha Rafat, Basra Hasan and Aqsa delivered speeches on the partition horrors, while BFA students Saima Arshi and Aliza Zameer presented paintings by some renowned artists, depicting the pain and agony of the partition.

The Centre of Advanced Study, Department of History, Aligarh Muslim University organized a one-day Seminar on the theme "Partition Horrors Remembrance Day". The Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Asmar Beg was the chief guest.

Dr. Lubna Irfan introduced the theme of the seminar while Prof. Gulfishan Khan, Chairperson recalled the stories regarding the horrors and tragedies people witnessed during the partition.

Prof. Asmar Beg focused on finding positivity amid the darkness of hatred and strife. Dr Saifullah Saifi, Dr Gulrukh Khan, Prof. Waseem Raja, Dr Akhtar Hasan and Dr Yogesh Yadav presented thought-provoking talks analyzing the patriarchal perspectives that fuelled violence against women during and after the partition.

A digital exhibition prepared by the Indian Council of Historical Research and Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts was projected in the Audio-Visual Room of the department, along with the display of books and documents related to partition.

At the Aftab Hall, an exhibition was held to mark the ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day'. Prof. Ali Athar (Department of History) delivered a guest lecture highlighting the agony, sufferings and pain of millions of people who suffered during the partition days.

Earlier, Dr Salman Khalil, Provost, welcomed the guest speaker and underlined the relevance of remembering the sufferings.

At the Ahmadi School for the Visually Challenged, the 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day' was observed by an exhibition of photographs through digital media.

The Principal of the school, Dr Naila Rashid said that the exhibition reminds us of the largest displacement of the human population in the last century, which also claimed the lives of a large number of people.

ALIGARH August 15: The spirit of freedom reverberated through Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) as the institution celebrated the 77th Independence Day of India with unwavering enthusiasm and grandeur. The event was marked by a insightful speech of the vice chancellor and a deep sense of unity among teachers, students, and staff.

Addressing a diverse gathering at Strachey Hall, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Mohammad Gulrez, after hoisting the National flag,  delivered an inspiring message about the essence of freedom. He emphasized that true freedom extends beyond the absence of foreign rule; it resides in the conscious awareness of our roles and responsibilities as citizens. Prof Gulrez underscored the transformative vision of AMU's founder, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, who sought to establish an institution rooted in reasoning, scientific temper, and societal progress.

Reflecting on AMU's historic significance, Prof Gulrez highlighted the institution's pivotal role in shaping India's conscience during its struggle for Independence. He lauded the university's legacy, which extends beyond producing freedom fighters to fostering the intellectual foundation that contributed to the nation's emancipation.

The Vice Chancellor urged the AMU community to embrace the ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity that bind the Indian nation. He stressed the importance of preserving democratic values, individual freedom, and collective responsibility as the core elements of unity. He commended India's remarkable growth in the 76 years since Independence, citing its position of promise in the global economy and its strides in various sectors.

Prof Gulrez applauded the government's initiatives such as Skill India, Digital India, and National Health Mission, which demonstrate a commitment to holistic development. He highlighted India's participation in international forums like IBSA, BRICS, Quad, and ASEAN, along with its presidency of the G20 summit, as indications of India's rising significance and cultural heritage on the global stage.

Drawing attention to AMU's own development, Prof Gulrez announced the successful implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, introducing innovative programs aimed at employability, entrepreneurship, and skill enhancement. He celebrated AMU's achievements in NAAC and NIRF rankings, commending the institution's commitment to quality education.

The Vice Chancellor called for the transformation of AMU into the country's first fully Green University, aligning with global environmental responsibilities. He affirmed that AMU is not merely an academic institution but a beacon of hope, nurturing ideas and aspirations for a brighter future. The proceedings were conducted by AMU Registrar Mr Mohammad Imran (IPS).

The day's celebrations also included environmental initiatives by Prof Gulrez and Mr Imran, with saplings planted and fruits distributed to students admitted at University Health Centre.

In his concluding remarks, Prof Gulrez called upon the university's faculty to provide holistic, value-based education that meets global standards and contributes significantly to nation-building. He acknowledged the challenges ahead with optimism, expressing pride in working alongside a dedicated team of  faculty members.

The G20 Selfie Point was also inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor at Duck Point of the University Campus, a joint effort of Cultural Education Centre and Building Department. G20 Selfi Point showcased international cooperation, while an exhibition of AMU freedom fighters' photographs connected young minds with the nation's rich history.

The Department of Urdu organized a poetic assembly, a Mushaira, which echoed the sentiments of freedom and unity. Prof Gulrez presided over the event, affirming AMU's commitment to cultural and linguistic diversity. Prof Q. H. Faridi, Chairman of the department, welcomed the poets and guests and Prof S. Siraj Ajmali conducted the Mushaira proceedings.

The Independence Day celebration at AMU underscored the institution's unwavering dedication to its founding ideals and its commitment to fostering a generation of conscious, responsible citizens who will shape India's future. ALIGARH August 16: The 77^th Independence Day of India was celebrated at Aligarh Muslim University schools, colleges and halls of residence with great fervor.

The Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof Mohammad Afzal, along with the faculty members and non-teaching staff celebrated Independence Day at the Office of the Dean by hoisting national flag and paying rich tributes to the nation.

At S.H. Senior Secondary School (Boys), the day began with the flag hoisting by the Officiating Principal Dr. Shakeel Ahmad Alvi, who, in his speech, emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline and urged the students to develop scientific temperament. Speeches in Hindi, Urdu and English were delivered by the students.

The officiating Principal at the Senior Secondary School (Girls), Ms Shabana Nisar hoisted the national flag and urged the students to work for the betterment and progress of the country. Speeches in English, Hindi and Urdu were delivered by the students highlighting the sacrifices of the national heroes who shed their lives to secure independence from British rule.

The Principal, AMU Girls' School, Ms Amna Malik hoisted the national flag and administered the Panch Pran pledge to the teachers and students. She spoke on the significance of India’s Presidency of G20 Summit, adding that every nation has a unique culture and we should do our best to make our country a developed nation. 

Speeches in three languages, patriotic songs and dance were presented by the students on this occasion.

At Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh AMU City School, the Principal, Syed Tanveer Nabi hoisted the national flag and exhorted the students to remember the sacrifices of the freedom fighters who bore a lot of hardships to secure freedom for us. He said freedom is a boon and it must be preserved by one and all.

Several cultural events were organized by the students on this occasion.

The Principal of STS School, Mr Faisal Nafees hoisted the national flag and highlighted the role played by soldiers in protecting the country. He urged the students and teachers to fulfill their national duties with full dedication. He lauded the National Education Policy 2020, implemented by the Government of India to introduce skill based education.

Various events, organized by the students to celebrate the biggest national festival with great zeal, included speeches in Hindi Urdu and English, patriotic songs, Nukkad Natak, Mass Yoga and group dance.

At ABK High School (Boys), the chief guest, Prof. Qudsia Tahseen (Deputy Director, AMU Schools) hoisted the national flag and exhorted the students to adopt honesty, dedication and sincerity as the core principles of their lives.

The Principal, Dr. Samina emphasized the importance of discipline in life. She said the best way to pay back the sacrifices of the freedom fighters is to do our duties with utmost sincerity and dedication.

On this occasion, patriotic speeches, songs, Qawwali, group dance and Mime were presented by the students. The school also organized plantation programme to celebrate Meri Maati Mera Desh and students were urged to participate in Har Ghar Tiranga and Selfie with Tiranga drives.

Prof. Qudsia Tahseen hoisted the national flag at the ABK High School (Girls) in the presence of the Principal, Dr. Samina and Vice Principal, Dr. Saba Hasan.

At AMU City Girls' High School, the chief guest, Prof. Abid Ali Khan (Deputy Director, AMU Schools) hoisted the national flag in the presence of the guest of honour, Prof Fazal-ur-Rehman.

Prof Abid Ali Khan encouraged students to be good nationals and work hard to achieve their goals in life and contribute to the national life in a meaningful manner.

Prof Fazal-ur-Rehman (Department of Anatomy, JNMC) said that pity for the weaker sections and self discipline can be the biggest tools for achieving the aim of life. He said the love for the nation is the cornerstone of every citizen’s life.

Earlier, welcoming the guests, the Principal of the school, Dr. Md. Alamgir exhorted the students to become good citizens and remain truthful in their thoughts, actions and words.

The Superintendent, Abdullah School, Mrs. Umra Zaheer hoisted the national flag and highlighted the sacrifices of the freedom fighters to achieve independence. She lauded the government’s initiatives such as Meri Maati Mera Desh, Mitti ko Naman, Veeron ko Vandan, etc., and urged the students to participate in these drives and do their best for the nation building in their later career.

On this occasion, English, Hindi and Urdu speeches and patriotic songs were presented by the students.

The school students participate in a number of events on this occasion including speeches, patriotic songs, essay competition and musical presentation. A selfie point was created by the students under the Meri Maati Mera Desh programme and later they also participated in a plantation drive.

At Begum Sultan Jahan Hall, the Provost, Prof Saira Mehnaz commenced the celebration by hoisting the national flag and paying rich tributes to the nation. She emphasized the importance of the day and highlighted the sacrifices of the freedom fighters who gave away everything to achieve freedom from the clutches of the British empire.

Dr. Salman Khalil, Provost, Aftab Hall hoisted the tricolor and discussed the role of freedom fighters in securing independence from British empire. He said their sacrifices call for the highest degree of gratitude on our part and we must do our best to preserve the hard-earned freedom.

At the Allama Iqbal Boarding House, the Warden-In-Charge, Dr. Shakeel Ahmad Alvi hoisted the national flag and exhorted the students to contribute to the development of the nation and work for unity, integrity and prosperity of their motherland.

At Abdullah Hall Provost Dr. Ghazala Naheed hoisted the flag. National Anthem and Patriotic songs were sung by the students on the theme. ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’ and Meri Maati Mera Desh’ under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsa were also observed. The Hall building was decorated with colourful flower by Ms. Mehvish Khan

The Independence Day celebrations were held at other institutions and departments of studies as well, and the students and teachers participated in these celebrations with great enthusiasm and resolved to contribute to the nation building in every possible way they can.

Aligarh, August 23: Begum Azeezun Nisa Hall, Aligarh Muslim University organized a two-day Gardening Workshop themed "MERI MAATI MERA DESH" (My Soil, My Country). The event, held on August 19 and 20, aimed to raise awareness about the advantages of gardening and its pivotal role in ecosystem restoration through planting. Aligned with the G20 sustainable development goals, this initiative provided nature-based solutions to pressing global issues. The workshop drew the participation of gardening enthusiasts, including students from BAN Hall, Abdullah Hall, Sarojini Naidu Hall, and other female students from Aligarh Muslim University.

Prof. Subuhi Khan, the Hall Provost, highlighted the workshop's objectives and underscored the critical link between the G20 Sustainable Development Goals and the role of gardening in achieving them.

Distinguished plant taxonomist Prof. Wazahat Husain, who serves as the Chairman of the Environmental Committee at AMU, delivered an enlightening lecture titled "Outdoor and Indoor Gardening." His insights provided attendees with valuable knowledge about effective gardening practices. Dr. Hifzur Rahman Siddique, from the Department of Zoology shared innovative solutions through his presentation "Rooftop Vegetation: A Solution for Urban Agriculture and Self-Sufficiency."

In the pursuit of sustainable horticulture, Prof. Zaki Anwar Siddiqui, the Member-In-Charge of Land and Gardens at AMU, addressed the audience with a lecture on "Plant Diseases and their Management."

The second day featured interactive hands-on training sessions led by Mr. Altaf Ahmad and Mr. Mohd. Ahmad. These sessions guided participants through essential gardening practices with guidance from Prof. Wazahat Husain.

The valedictory ceremony's chief guest was Mr. Mohammad Imran, IPS, the Registrar of AMU, and the Guest of Honour was Prof. Shujauddin, former MIC of Land and Gardens. During the event, Mr. Imran planted a Heliconia tree and expressed his appreciation for the initiative, encouraging the ongoing conduct of similar workshops across AMU schools to foster environmental awareness and consciousness.

The program concluded with the distribution of certificates and saplings to attendees by resource persons. The program's Convenor, Dr. Zarrin Imran, extended vote of thanks, while Co-Convenor Ms. Rafeeda Siddiqui presented the comprehensive workshop report.

This event highlighted the vital role of gardening in fostering environmental consciousness and sustainable practices.

ALIGARH August 26: The Training and Placement Office ( General) and Women's College, Aligarh Muslim University are jointly organizing a one-day job fair "Parwaaz'' for the female students of the university on September 10, 2023, under the G20 University Connect programme.

Mr Saad Hameed, TPO and Convener, said that the objective of the job fair is to bring recruiters and job seekers to a common platform, provide livelihood opportunities to female students and empower them economically and socially.

He said the companies participating in the job fair will represent a diverse range of sectors and the UG and PG female students of the university will have the chance to interact with recruiters, engage in interviews and participate in various assessment processes.

ALIGARH August 26:  Legal experts, faculty members and students discussed the various aspects of the topic, “Real Estate, Construction Laws and Sustainable Development”, at a panel discussion held by the Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University in hybrid mode under the G20 series of programmes.

Mr Shawahiq Siddiqui  (Environmental Lawyer) addressed the symbiotic relationship between the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and the Real Estate Regulation Act, 2016, and highlighted multiple administrative hiccups and hurdles in realizing the goal of sustainability.

Prof. Mohd. Rihan, Coordinator, Centre for Integrated Green and Renewable Energy, Member Incharge, Electricity Department and Convener, Green University Project, AMU, highlighted the role of universities and students in realizing the target of climate change by switching over to green energy in modern construction and real estate development.

Mr Mohd. Naseem (Eminent Author on Energy and Environment Laws) elaborated on the legal panorama of real estate and construction laws in the context of environment and energy laws in forging a sustainable future in town and country planning.

Earlier, welcoming the panellists, Prof. M. Z. M. Nomani, Dean, Faculty of Law highlighted their seminal contribution to the sustainability laws and policies in India and abroad. He also dwelled on the challenges of the real estate and construction industry-induced air pollution laws and rules in the national capital region of Delhi.

ALIGARH August 29: Prof. Ahrar Husain, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi delivered a lecture on “Online Web Resources and Distance Education” at the Centre for Distance and Online Education, Aligarh Muslim University under the Jan Bagidari events held to mark India’s G20 Presidency.

Prof. Husain focused on various tools and techniques used in online and distance learning and emphasized the significance of online learning in higher education.

Earlier, welcoming the speaker, Prof. Mohd Nafees Ahmad Ansari, Director of the centre, gave introductory remarks and appreciated the government policies for promoting the distance and online learning.

ALIGARH August 28: Rounak Shahi, a research scholar in the Department of West Asian and North African Studies, Aligarh Muslim University participated as a student representative in the G20 Women Empowerment Summit held by the Ministry of Women and Child Development at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The summit featured the participation of Women and Gender Equality Ministers from across the G20 and guest countries.

Elaborated on the Aligarh Muslim University’s role in upholding and promoting the theme of the G20 Summit, “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, Shahi said that it has been working in tandem with the Government of India in deducing the best out of India’s G20 Presidency.

She said that India has set the agenda of ‘collaboration and inclusivity’ in global discourse from the G20 forum, as highlighted by the AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohammad Gulrez, in his Independence Day speech. AMU, as a university, is making conscious efforts to impart to its students knowledge and understanding about G20 and India’s role in spreading the message of the summit — “One Earth, One Family, One Future”.

Shahi held that as the Chair of the summit, India gave new impetus to Women's Leadership by moving forward from an approach of “Women Development” to “Women Led Development”.

Shahi is pursuing research on the topic, “Deconstructing American Foreign Policy: Shifting World Order and Competing Interests in West Asia”.
