Nadeem Khalil is Ph.D. from IIT Delhi, M. Sc. (Environmental Engg) & B.Sc. (Civil Engg) from the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). A total of 29+ years of experience of academia, corporate, and industrial in the field of wastewater treatment engineering, solid waste management, EIAs, rejuvenation of natural water bodies with special focus on the use of sustainable technologies, advance and nature-based solutions (particularly wetlands technology) from inception to commissioning of the projects. Past two decades, his research activities are mainly in collaboration with leading international institutions, with funding from national and international agencies like the European Commission, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), 2030 WRG (World Bank Group), Department of Science & Technology, and Industrial sponsored programmes. In capacity as a lead coordinator, he has completed two major collaborative research projects “SWINGS and PAVITR” implemented under the India-Europe Water Technology Programmes (FP7 & HORIZON2020) with partners from Europe and India. So far, he has published 20 research articles in peer-reviewed journals, guided 06 doctoral students, and has supervised more than 30 Master’s theses. Besides teaching and research, he is also actively involved with industry, government agencies, and ministries in India and abroad for providing technical advice and consultancy in the field of environmental engineering, STPs, Waste Management, and Lake Conservation Projects. He is one of the panel advisors for the National Mission for Clean Ganga and the National Lakes Conservation Directorate. He also took the lead in capacity as a Consultant Cum Member Secretary for the Smart City Projects (Aligarh, Agra, Bareilly).
