Dr. Asiya Chaudhary, a Professor in the Department of Commerce at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), has an extensive teaching career spanning over 20 years. Her pedagogical expertise covers various courses, including MHRM, MIRM, MBA-FM, MTTM, M.Com, B.Com, PGD-BRIM, and PGDBF. She specialises in teaching subjects like Direct Taxation, Business Statistics, Business & Managerial Economics, Marketing, and Consumer Behaviour. Her scholarly contributions are notable, with a few books to her credit, including Textiles Industry in the 21st Century and The New Middle Class of Delhi and NCR." Dr. Chaudhary has also published several academic papers in reputed Journals Indexed in ABDC, WOS, and SCOPUS and presented them at national and International conferences. She has regularly conducted various training programs, Workshops, Conferences, Seminars, and FDPs for researchers and academicians in association with ICSSR, UGC, National Commission for Women, IIM Kashipur, etc. She holds academic contributions abroad to the Royal University of Bhutan, Mahatma Gandhi Institute, Moka (Mauritius), and the University of Economics in Bratislava, Czech Republic.
Furthermore, she has guided numerous Ph.D. scholars in the domain of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Industry.
Dr Chaudhary is making a significant contribution to promoting entrepreneurship. Recently, she signed an MOU with the University of Houston USA for 5 years to implement the SURE℠Program in the Department of Commerce, AMU. Various iterations of the SURE℠ have already been conducted as an outreach and community service around the campus by encouraging small and underprivileged entrepreneurs through education, hand-holding and networking. Continuing in the same direction, launched a course titled Entrepreneurship on the SWAYAM portal.
Along with her academic profile, Dr. Chaudhary has also justified various administrative posts at AMU. Presently, in addition to her academic journey, she is serving as a Provost of Begum Azizun Nisa Hall (Residential Hall). She is also a member of the Center Purchase Committee and the Internal Complaint Committee. She has worked as Deputy Director, the Residential Coaching Academy, AMU; Provost, Indira Gandhi Hall (Residential Hall) AMU; Course Coordinator B.Com Programme, Centre for Distance Education, AMU and Chief Coordinator, Centre for United Nations Chapter at AMU. Her commitment to academia and her proactive role in advancing research and education have significantly contributed to the field of commerce.
