Department of Education - Murshidabad

On 11^th November 2022, Department of Education, AMU Centre Murshidabad, West Bengal organized a one-day National Webinar on “NEP-2020: Emerging Role of Teachers” through online Platform to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Union Education Minister of India from 1947 to 1958. Hon’ble, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Prof. Mohammad Gulrez was the Chief Guest of Programme. Prof. M.M. Ansari, Former Central Information Commissioner & UGC members was the Keynote Speaker. Dr. Nigamananda Biswas, Director, AMU Centre Murshidabad was Programme Director and delivered the inaugural address. Dr. Aiyaz Ahmad Khan, Coordinator-B.Ed. (Unit) gave the welcome address. The formal Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. Rasheed Ahmad and the programme was compered by Dr. Abdul Samad. All faculty members were in the organizing committee.

Department of Education, AMU Centre Murshidabad organized two-days programme on the occasion of World Urdu Day on 8^th & 9^th November 2022. This two-days’ programme was based on mainly three events i.e. Essay Writing Competition, Speech Competition and Recitation of Urdu Ghazal or Poetry. The programme was presided by Dr. Nigamananda Biswas, Director, AMU Centre Murshidabad as the Chief-Guest in Valedictory Function on 9^th November 2022. Dr. Imtiyaz Ahmad, Associate Professor, Department of Urdu, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh as Keynote Speaker and Dr. Md. Junaid, Assistant Professor, Department of Law, AMU Centre Murshidabad as Guest Speaker on concluding day of the programme. Dr. Aiyaz Ahmad Khan, Coordinator-B.Ed. (Unit), AMU Centre Murshidabad was Programme Coordinator. Ms. Aliya Tazeen, Organizing Secretary of the programme proposed the Vote of Thanks in Valedictory Function. Ms. Ayesha Khatoon, students of B.Ed. (3^rd Semester, 2022-23) compered the programme and three students, namely, Ms. Jusaila K., Mr. Sharfuddin Khan and Mr. Muhammed Muhsin were in the organizing committee.

On 5^th September 2022, Department of Education, AMU Centre Murshidabad organized a one-day National Webinar on “Changing Role of Teachers in the Present Era” through online platform to celebrate the Teacher’s Day. Prof. Mujibul Hasan Siddiqui, Chairperson, Department of Education, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh was the Chief-Guest of the Webinar. The programme was honoured with the gracious presence of Dr. Syed Abdul Moin, Former Director Distance Education, SCERT, Bihar and Prof. Munesh Kumar, Department of Education, University of Lucknow, Lucknow as the Guest Speaker in the webinar. The programme was formally started with inaugural address by Dr. Nigamananda Biswas, Director, AMU Centre Murshidabad. Welcome address was delivered by Dr. Aiyaz Ahmad Khan, Coordinator-B.Ed. (Unit), while Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. Rasheed Ahmad. The event was compered by Dr. Abdul Samad, Assistant Professor, Department of Education. All the faculty members were in the organizing committee.

On 24^th February 2022, the Department of Education, AMU Centre Murshidabad, West Bengal organized the Student Induction Programme for B.Ed. First Year Students (Batch 2021-22) online through Google Meet Platform. The programme was presided by Prof. Nisar Ahmad Khan, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. The program was divided into two sessions. In the first session, Dr. Aiyaz Ahmad Khan, Course Coordinator, Department of Education, AMU Centre Murshidabad gave the welcome address. Dr. Nigamananda Biswas, Director-in-charge, AMU Centre Murshidabad delivered the Inaugural address. Prof. Nasrin (Officiating Chairperson), Department of Education, described the course structure of B.Ed. in detail. Dr. Md. Junaid (Provost), Mr. Mofikul Islam (Deputy Proctor), Dr. Syed Atif Jilani (Assistant DSW), Dr. Rasheed Ahmad (Warden Boys' Hostel) and Ms. Aliya Tazeen (Warden Girls' Hostel) discussed their office functions in detail. In the second part of the programme, there was an interactive session between the faculty members and the newly admitted students of B.Ed. The program concluded with the University Tarana and the National Anthem.

Department of Education, AMU Murshidabad Centre, West Bengal organized two-days “Educational Awareness Campaign” on 10^th & 12^th November, 2015. The objectives of this campaign was to spread the educational awareness among the unprivileged and downtrodden section of the society. This programme was held in the village of Talie (10^th Nov.) and Momintola (12^th Nov.) of Murshidabad district. During the rally, street play on the importance of education was staged in different places, students interacted with parents and elder members of each family. After covering the entire village, a short cultural and educational programme was also organized there. Dr. Badaruddoza, Director, AMU Centre Murshidabad was the Programme Director and Dr. Aiyaz Ahmad Khan was the Organizing Secretary of this programme. All the faculty members and B.Ed. students were actively participated in the programme.
