Prof. Fareed Ahmad Khan works in the field of Ecology and Environmental Botany. The overarching theme of my research is to understand the effect of Environmental Chemical Pollutants at the ecosystem level. More specifically my research group works on the biogeochemistry of trace metals/ metalloids and engineered nanomaterials in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. We use the combination of field and laboratory-scale experiments and advanced statistical methods to try and advance our fundamental understanding of fate, uptake, transport, and toxico-kinetics of Environmental Chemical Pollutants in aquatic and terrestrial systems.

Prof. Fareed Ahmad Khan hosted and organized a series of Extension lectures in the faculties of Life Science, Science, Agricultural Sciences and Engineering and Technology delivered by the Guest Speaker, Dr. Nishanta Rajakaruna, Associate Professor, Calfornia State Polytechnic University, Calfornia, USA. Dr. Nishi visited Prof. Fareed Ahmad Khan's Research Lab from 19th February to 3rd March 2017 for a collaborative research program on US Fulbright Fellowship. His international research collaborators include Dr ID Green, UK; Dr Nishanta Rajakaruna, USA; Dr AA Ansari, KSA. Prof. Fareed A. Khan is the member ( VC nominee) of Departmental Research Committee of Dept. of Botany, MA Jauhar University, Rampur, He is also a member (VC nominee) of BOS of Dept of Botany (2013-16; 2017-2020), Dept. of Environmental Studies (2017-2020), Department of Science and Humanities (2013-16), M A Jauhar University, Rampur. He had earlier been a member of BOS of the University of Kashmir. He worked in CSIR- NBRI lab as Visiting Associate and also worked as National Natural Resource Management (NNRMS) trainee at Indian Inst of Remote Sensing (IIRS) Dehradun. He taught application of Remote Sensing in Environmental Studies for over 15 years to M.Sc. Botany Students at AMU. Dr Khan served as General Superintendent of all examinations of the University for 4 yrs during his tenure as Deputy Proctor and as Asstt Superintendent of Exams for 6 yrs during the tenure of Asstt Proctor. He served as the expert of a selection committee for Professors and Assoc Professors of one of the state universities of Bihar. He was subject expert for the post of Asstt Director, CCRUM, Min of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha &Homoeopathic), New Delhi held in March, 2019. He had been Examiner of Public Service Commission of one of the states of Indian Union (2020-2021). He was the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker in the National Seminar held on February 28- March 1st, 2014 at SRM Gupta Govt. PG College, Chharrah, Aligarh. Invited Speaker in the 37th Indian Social Science Congress held at AMU. He was Guest of Honour in Prize distribution programme of Air Rifle and Air Pistol shooting competition held at DPS Khurja on 11th June, 2017, wherein Shooting players from 5 states(UP, PB, HR, DL, UK) participated. He was the Chief Guest of inaugural ceremony of shooting competition organised by Victory Shooting Sports Club, Iglas, Aligarh on 22-06-2017.
