Dr. Hisamuddin, after passing class X from Saifuddin Tahir High School (now Syedna Tahir Saifuddin High School or Minto Circle) with distinction obtained under-graduate and post-graduate degrees from Aligarh Muslim University. He was awarded Merit Scholarship in M Sc I year as well as M Sc II year. After qualifying NET-JRF (UGC), he joined research in the field of Plant Pathology and Nematology, and obtained Ph.D. from Department of Botany, A.M.U. Aligarh. His area of research is histopathological studies on economically important plants infected with the nematode in the presence or the absence of the biocontrol agents like Paecilomyces lilacinus, Trichderma harzianum and others (Ref CV). Dr. Hisamuddin was assigned M.Sc. (Ag) classes for two academic sessions from 1986-87 to 1987-88 as J.R.F., and three academic session from 1988-89 to 1990-91 as S.R.F. N.E.T. (U.G.C.). He served Senior Secondary School (Boys and Girls), A.M.U. Aligarh in two academic sessions 1991-92 and 1992-93 to teach Genetics in all the sections of Class XII. In 1993, he was appointed as Research Associate of Hamdard National Foundation at Hamdard University, New Delhi. He joined Department of Botany, A.M.U. Aligarh, as Lecturer in 1994. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 1998, Reader in 2003, Associate Professor in 2006, and Professor in 2009. Dr. Hisamuddin has guided NINETEEN M.Sc. (Plant Pathology) and THREE M. Phil. Students. Under his guidance EIGHT students have obtained their Ph.D. degrees and TWO are working. He has published his research findings in Journals of International repute. He has completed one research project on Phytoremediation. He is life member of several Scientific Journals and Scientific Societies. He has attended several national and international symposia, conferences and workshops related to his field of research. His articles have been published in Everymans Science of Indian Science Congress Association, and several edited books (Ref CV). The teaching fields of Dr. Hisamuddin, during entire period of teaching experience have been Algae; Cell Biology and Basic Biochemistry; Plant Anatomy; Genetics; Biotechnology; Microbiology; Cell Biology of Plants; Biology and Diversity of Viruses, Bacteria, Fungi and Nematodes; Plant Pathology and Nematology; Plant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture; In vitro Technologies and Industrial Applications; and Plant Biotechnology and Crop Improvement. He has been invited to deliver lectures and talks on various topics. In addition to teaching and research activities, Dr. Hisamuddin has served his Alma Mater as Warden of different residential hotels from 1996 to 2010; as Provost from 2012 to 2013; as Assistant Director, Coaching and Guidance Centre from 2006 to 2010; as Joint Director, Centre for Promotion of Science from 2010 to 2012; and is serving as Joint Director, Centre for Promotion of Science till date. He has been appointed Training and Placement Officer; Member of Syllabus Revising Committee; Scrutiny Officer; Assistant Superintendent of Examination; and Member of Career and Counselling Cell (Residential Coaching Academy) from time to time.
