Fatma Mehar Sultana is an Associate Professor in Department of Geography, AMU, Aligarh. She has done her doctorate work on the topic "Spatial Dimension of Social Wellbeing in Aligarh city." She specializes in the urban socio-environmental themes with an emphasis on the wellbeing and social justice issues. She actively participates in the intellectual awareness programmes for the students regarding the relevance and revival of the classical Muslim scholarship with special focus on the ontological and epistemological debates. She is actively engaged in addressing the issues of educational crises faced by the Muslim community particularly the school education.
She has an experience of 15 years teaching Remote Sensing. She has a working knowledge of various relevant soft wares. She teaches Geographical Thought , Advanced Spatial Statistics, Cartography, Population Geography, Geography of India at undergraduate level. Currently she is teaching Social Geography at post graduate level. She has successfully guided three Phd scholars and one research scholar is currently pursuing phd work under her supervision.
