Dr. Mohammad Nasir is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Law, Aligarh Muslim University (India). His teaching interests are in company law and mercantile law; and academic interests in law & development and legal reform, where he seeks to use his works as pivots for policy action for those who are politically weak. His critique of India's disequalizing development pattern was awarded 2nd best paper at National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata, India in 2012. He spoke on India's mandatory CSR regime at Edinburgh, Scotland in 2014, and against India's retentionist position on death penalty at Keble College, University of Oxford in 2016. The National Legal Services Authority of India published his contribution on Property Rights of Women under Muslim Law in its Module for Training of Legal Services Lawyers- a work undertaken in co-authorship with eminent jurist Prof. Tahir Mahmood with foreword by the Hon'ble Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi in 2018. He has worked in the office of the Additional Solicitor General of India (Supreme Court) on Indian government's gas pricing policy in 2011; and on the project sanctioned by Libyan Ambassador to India to draft local government structure for the proposed transitional Libyan constitution in 2013. As a tennis enthusiast, he has been a gold medallist in the All India Inter-University Lawn Tennis Championship 2013, representing the Aligarh Muslim University.
