Dr. Farooq Ahmad Dar’s research interests primarily focus on ancient Unani pulse diagnosis (Nabz) and modern pulse wave analysis. He served as Co-Investigator of an EMR-funded research project on the study of radial pulse wave, supported by the Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. His other major area of interest is Medical Constitutionology/ Mizaj/ Constitutional Medicine or Temperamentology.
He has published several research papers in reputed journals, including Springer, Indian Journal of Traditional Knowledge (NISCAIR), Shiraz E-Medical Journal (Iran), Hamdard Medicus, Hippocratic Journal of Unani Medicine (CCRUM), and Journal of Research in Unani Medicine (NIUM).
Dr. Dar is actively engaged in curriculum development as Chairperson of various syllabus-framing committees under the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), contributing significantly to curriculum design and modernization of Unani medical education. He also serves as Associate Editor of Unani Medicus – An International Journal and Co-Editor of Unimed-Kulliyat – A Journal of Unani Medicine.
