Realizing the need to
boost vocational education on a larger scale, the University Grant Commission
(UGC) proposes to establish as many as 100 'Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Centres' for
Knowledge Acquisition and Up-gradation of Skilled Human Abilities and
Livelihood (KAUSHAL)' during the XII plan period. These centres would take up
the vocational education to new levels and offer courses beyond Diploma and
B.Voc. degree also. The Centres will not only focus on skill development alone
but also develop entrepreneurship traits. The centre may endeavour to maintain
a structure of student enrolment with respect to diploma, Advanced Diploma,
B.Voc, and further studies at PG levels. These Centres will also coordinate
between the country's higher education system and industry to work as centres
of excellence for skill development in a specialized area. Community college
offers the following courses.
1. B.Voc/M.Voc in Production Technology
2. B.Voc/M.Voc in Polymer and Coating Technology
3. B.Voc/M.Voc in Fashion and Garment Technology
4. Diploma in Computerised Shoe Design and Development
Teachers of University Polytechnic, Womens' Polytechnic and Chemistry department are teaching the courses of Community College. Most have Masters degrees and some of them have doctorate degrees.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES (PEOs)
To provide a judicious mix of skills relating to a profession and appropriate content of General Education.
To ensure that the students have adequate knowledge and skills so that they work ready at each exit point of the program.
To provide flexibility to the students by means of pre-defined entry and multiple exit points.
To integrate NSQF within the undergraduate level of higher education to enhance the employability of the students and meet industry requirements.
To equip students so that apart from meeting the needs of the local and national industry they are also expected to become part of the global workforce.
To provide vertical mobility to students admitted in such vocational courses.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)
1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics and science fundamentals, and skill specialization for the solution of complex problems.
2. Problem analysis: Identity, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex problems reaching substantiated conclusions.
3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations
4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern skills and tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
6. The skill engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional practice.
7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional skill solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the professional practice.
9. Individual and teamwork: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex professional activities with the professional community and with society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
11. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the professional and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
12. Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and lifelong learning in the broadest context of technological change.
