PEO1:  To implement Civil Engineering principles and knowledge to create structural systems and services for the society and to improve quality of life while emphasizing on sustainable development. 

PEO2:  To inculcate state of the art technical expertise using theoretical, experimental and computational approaches for the analysis and design of structures 

PEO3:  To impart research skills with professional and ethical attitude amongst the post graduates. 

PEO4:  To enhance personal knowledge, communication, managerial and decision making skills to succeed in Structural Engineering profession so as to be the preferred the choice of employers at global arena.

COURSE.PO :

As part of the preparation process, the Civil Engineering department has adopted the specific program outcomes to be achieved, as listed below:

 

PO1:  An ability to independently carry out research /investigation and development work to solve practical problems.. 

PO2:  An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document. 

PO3:  Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program.. 

PO4:  To enhance personal knowledge, communication, managerial and decision-making skills to succeed in Structural Engineering profession so as to be the preferred choice of the employers at global arena.

2. To inculcate state of the art expertise using theoretical, experimental and computational approaches for the design of hydraulic structures. 

3. To impart research and developmental skills with professional and ethical attitude in the students with good communication skills. 

4. To enhance personal development, decision making and managerial skills to succeed in the profession, so as to be the preferred choice of employers at global level.

COURSE.PO :

After successful completion of the programme the students shall have: 

a. The knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering to conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data for design of hydraulic structures. 

b. An ability to model and simulate hydraulic structures, as well as to analyze and interpret the results. 

c. An understanding to design various hydraulic structures satisfying desired objectives with realistic constraints related to economy, environment, social, political, safety and sustainability issues. 

d. The potential to function in multidisciplinary teams and understanding professional, ethical responsibilities related to hydraulic engineering.

1.To produce graduate engineers who can improve quality of life by virtue of pollution free sustainable environment by applying basic engineering principles.

  3. To impart research and developmental skills with professional and ethical attitude amongst the post graduates to build capacity for disaster preparedness and mitigation.

Department of Civil Engineering of Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology strives to train students for the cause of sound and applied technical education. The department encourages quality education enriched with experimental, analytical and application of technical knowhow along with overall personality development.

The supposed outcome is that our students are at par with the best of institutes of the country and abroad.

As part of building good engineers, following specific Program Outcomes have been adopted by the Department of Civil Engineering:

a). An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science for engineering application in design of structures in the areas of seismic vulnerability.

b). Development of skills to solve problems of complex ground system, including the ability to measure, evaluate, synthesize and interpret data for design of sub and supra structures.

c). An ability to design a system and component to meet desired needs within economic, environmental, societal and workable constraints, with over all considerations of pre and post disaster safety.

d). An ability to function, communicate and liaison effectively with multi-disciplinary teams to formulate sustained safety standards, keeping in view the professional and ethical responsibility.

e). To recognise life-long learning process for understanding impact of multi hazard events and to provide solutions with state of the art techniques and demand of society to build back better.

f). An ability to see the challenges in emerging areas of infrastructure development in difficult terrain conditions and knowledge of contemporary issues, multidisciplinary approach and collaboration.

g). An ability to use the techniques, skills, modern engineering tools for honing report writing, communication, effective presentation and managerial skills in different components of disaster management cycle.
