Department of Museology Celebrates Independence Day

Dr. Danish Mahmood (Assistant Professor)Elected as Member Executive Board of Museums Associatio of India
AMU faculty elected as Member of Executive Committee, MAI
ALIGARH August 11: Dr Danish Mahmood (Assistant Professor, Department of Museology, Aligarh Muslim University) has been elected as Member, Executive Committee, Museums Association of India (MAI). His election took place during the general body meeting of Association's annual conference on "Maharajas and Their Museums", held at City Palace Museum, Udaipur (Rajasthan), last week.
Dr Danish also presented a paper on "Contribution of Raja Jaikishan Das in Collection of Archaeological Objects by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the Founder of Aligarh Muslim University".
Mr Masarrat Khan (Artist) and three research scholars of the Department of Museology, Ms. Samura Qadir, Ms. Drakshan Parveen and Ms. Zainab Iftikhar also attended the conference and presented their papers.
The international peer reviewed Journal of Indian Museums was also released during the conference which carries research papers of AMU faculty members including Professor Abduraheem K.

The treatment on Heritage building
Dr. Hedio arai Emiritus research scholar, National Institution of conservation of cultural property, japan along with a three member team arrived at department of Museology. they conduct test treatment on Heritage Building of the University . The chemicals developed in Japan for the control of biodeterioration of building was to be tested on a Indian building where high temperature and humidity remain most of the year. It was the followup action of the International conference held at department of Museology.
