DEPARTMENT_STAFF.COMPLETE_CV

At present, I am working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at AMU., Aligarh. I obtained my Ph.D. in Chemistry from Aligarh Muslim University in 2006.

My teaching assignments and interests include Undergraduate and Post-Graduate courses on General Organic Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, and advanced courses on Designing of Organic Synthesis by Disconnection Approach, Organic Name Reactions and Molecular Rearrangements and Photochemistry.

I pursued my research in the areas of Synthetic Organic Chemistry and Photochemistry with special emphasis on the photochemical studies on drug molecules. The purpose of this research was to apply the principles of synthetic organic photochemistry to solve the problems of drug photochemistry and photobiology. This research focuses  on the photodegradation mechanisms of photosensitizing drugs to identify the photochemical reactions and molecular mechanisms involved in the drug-induced photosensitization, ensuing phototoxicity, photoallergy, and photomutagenesis. The outcome of these researches is a contribution in part to the contemporary problems of modern photobiology. My current Research  is based on developing new sustainable methods for synthesis.

I have published a number of research articles in peer-reviewed journals of reputed Publishing houses such as the American Chemical Society, Taylor & Francis, Wiley, Springer,

Elsevier, Govi-Verlag Germany, the Slovenian Chemical Society, Arakat USA, and the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin (Japan)
and presented papers at various conferences (both National and International).
