Dr. Aftab Alam is an Assistant Professor (Contractual) in the Department of Mathematics, Aligarh Muslim University. Prior, he has worked  as a Guest Faculty at Zakir Husain Delhi College, University of Delhi and Jamia Millia Islamia. He has been obtained his elementary education from Muzaffarnagar (UP). He earned his High School and Intermediate certificates from Saharanpur (UP). Afterward he took admission in Aligarh Muslim University and carried out his graduation, postgraduation and doctoral degrees in Mathematics. He has throughout first divisions in all his certificate and degree courses. On November 12, 2016, he has been awarded Ph. D. degree in the field of metric fixed point theory in Department of Mathematics, (AMU) under the supervision of Prof. M. Imdad. During his entire Ph. D. tenure, he has availed Basic Scientific Research (BSR) Fellowship in the forms of JRF as well SRF. He has qualified UGC/CSIR-NET with All India Rank 60.

Dr. Alam has written an undergraduate textbook entitled “An Elementary Course on Partial Differential Equations” which was published in Cambridge University Press in 2022. He has published a number of research papers in refereed journals of international repute, most of them are indexed in SCI (with Impact Factors), such as: Journal of Fixed Point Theory and Applications, Filomat, Bulletin of Korean Mathematical Society, Fixed Point Theory, Journal of Function Spaces, Miskolc Mathematical Notes, Mathematical Sciences, Fixed Point Theory and Applications, AIMS Mathematics etc.

The main area of research interests include Metric Fixed Point Theory, Theory of Coincidence and Common Fixed Points, Ordered Metric Spaces, Relation-theoretic Fixed Point Analysis, Multi-tupled Fixed Point Theorems. He has teaching interests in Calculus, Multivariable and Vector Calculus, Coordinate Geometry of two and three dimensions, Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, Real and Complex Analysis, Metric Spaces, Functional Analysis, Topology, Set Theory, Mathematical Logic and Linear Algebra.
