- Born in a small town in Western Odisha, Dr. Himanshu Shekhar Acharya has a brilliant academic record with first class through out and first positions in order of merit in B.A.(Hons), M.A. and M.Phil.. After completing his post-graduation in Gangadhar Meher College (now a University), Sambalpur, Odisha, he studied M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Pondicherry Central University. He has the teaching experience of 32 years. He has published 21 Research papers, 07 Articles and 01 book. Under his supervision, 10 Ph.D. and 01 M.Phil. degrees have been awarded. At present, 08 students are continuing their Ph.D. research. He has attended 29 National and International Conferences. He has completed a research project sponsored by Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi. He served as the Chairman of the Department of Sanskrit from 1st July 2021 to 30th June 2024. He was the member of A.M.U. Court, member of Board of Studies of several Departments of A.M.U. and Raja Shri Mahendra Pratap Singh Viswavidyalaya, member of the Selection Committees of educational institutions, Universities and State Public Service Commissions.
