Dr. Kusumika Sarkar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). She has done her PhD from AMU. She has a personal interest in documenting syncretic subcultures as she has grown up in the borderlands of Murshidabad and Nadia where they are popular. She is guiding research on the Liberation War of Bangladesh with a focus on gender, on Travel narratives, on representation of Bengal in English Fiction amongst others. She has seven publications in journals, book chapters and proceedings (among those four are on South Asian Literature) besides participating in over 30 conferences, workshops and short-term courses. She has also created content for EPG Pathshala. She is also the TCI of Women’s College NCC, 3 UP Battalion and believes in empowering women from the margins.
