COURSE.DEGREE :

(i) A candidate will be eligible for admission to Ph.d. program, if he/she has obtained the Master's Degree in Economics with not less than 55% marks in the aggregate or its equivalent CPI/CGPA/NAG, and had also obtained the Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent recognized by the University with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate or its equivalent CPI/CGP/NAG, subject to any further requirements for eligibility that may be laid down by the University from time to time. 


(ii) A candidate, working in an externally funded research project in the University, who is otherwise eligible, may be permitted for admission to Ph.D. program while continuing to work in the project subject to certification by the Principal Investigator of the project that the subject of the project Ph.D. topic of the candidate overlaps.


COURSE.COURSE :

Course Work Paper- I : Research Methodology Paper- II: Related to the Candidate's Research Topic Dissertation

COURSE.JP :

Can work as a faculty in Universities, Colleges and Research Institutes; can be employed as an Economist, Agriculture Officer, Officers in Banks, Financial Advisor, Financial Analyst etc. in the industries and service sector, etc.

Students will be able to

  • 1.Train students to become independent researchers, who are able to produce high-quality research for both academic and non-academic settings;

  • 2.Acquire the analytical and critical thinking and research skills to become independent scholars;

  • 3.Learn various research methods ranging from quantitative and qualitative methods;

  • 4.Solve complex problems, by applying the technical tools that they have acquired, and by identifying and correctly using data sources;

  • 5.Produce a piece of original work, worthy of publication, on a topic relevant to their research.

Students will be able to

  • 1.Identify pertinent research problems and to formulate a research plan;

  • 2.Execute a research plan, to generate and analyze original research results, and to communicate those results through oral presentations and written publications;

  • 3.Solve problems, by applying the technical tools that they have acquired using data sources.
