Office of the Fikr-o-Nazar Aligarh
Muslim University
Fikr-o-Nazar is a major literary and research journal of
the Aligarh Muslim University, started in 1960 and included by the UGC CARE
LIST. This journal has contents on more than a dozen special issues on various
important topics and epoch makers of the education, literature and nation’s
socio-cultural development. International acclaimed and country’s most renowned
scholars and writers contribute their research papers to the Fikr-o-Nazar,
regularly.
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
Ø To collect the keys by
the deputed staff from the Editor`s residence to open the Academy.
Ø To clean the Chambers of Editors and Office of the Fikr-o-Nazar.
Switch-on minimal lights if required.
Ø The office of the Fikr-o-Nazar is devoted to provide a
favourable atmosphere and all required support to the academician, research
scholars, students and non-teaching staff to ensure the smooth functioning of
the Idara-e-Fikr-o-Nazar.
Ø The office is worked under the direction of the Editor. He monitors
all accounts, purchase, correspondence, and other activities of the Fikr-o-Nazar, and maintenance of the
records of the office and staff.
Ø The office ensures maintenance, cleanliness of the premises, including
chambers. It conducts physical verification of all office assets and maintains
the stock register, including the computers, printers, photocopier machine etc.
Ø The office is also responsible for the updating of the issues of
Journal on the website under the guidance of the Editor as well as to maintain
records and deliver all internal mails of official correspondence. Furthermore
to maintain receipt and dispatch register entries. Finalize and dispatch letter
assign by the Editor a day before in the second half.
Ø Sort the letter received in the second half of the previous
working day.
Ø Routine work that includes preparing the replies of arrived
letters and DFAs presented to the Editor in the second half of the day.
Procedure to prepare an Issue of Journal and
its distribution
Ø We will request the writers/contributors/Scholars to focus on
high-quality research papers as per the status of journal and always keep in
touch with them to achieve the target.
Ø After received the original research works on relevant topics, we
use to assemble an Editorial Screening and, will get
initiated for a well-formatted manuscript then the articles send for
peer-reviewing process to evaluate the selected papers to accommodate in the forthcoming
issue, if experts will approved them. Otherwise we use to contact the writers
for further modification, edition or omission, as suggested by the
experts.
Ø A copy of research papers
for proofreading, corrections and so on, we provide a soft copy to authors and
after the fulfilment of the requirement, board will allow for print.
Ø The final step is to
distribute and send the copy of journal to all writers/contributors life members/periodical
members, members of editorial board, complimentary members and other esteemed institutions
including reputed libraries.
Ø Two set of hard bond we
kept reserved for office record and remaining are stored safely, in case of
stock. The manuscripts or soft copies of the published materials have kept in
archives and is also uploaded on the page of journal of university website.

The Assistant Editor has a responsibility to remind the member
for renewal of the subscription, if it is going to laps in near future.
Ø
Assistant Editor has to be also responsible to make correspondences
for the research papers for the journal and on the relevant approved topics in
case of special issues.
