International Women's Day from 5th-7th March 2024
an inaugural session was conducted, which
included felicitation and interactive sessions with the new women
entrepreneurs, who have started their entrepreneurship journey with the help
and guidance from the department for setting up a small-scale enterprise.
A field visit at the LIG colony near IG Hall was
conducted. The Students of B.Sc. Community Science performed a skit emphasizing the significance of clean surroundings and menstrual hygiene
in maintaining good health and well-being.
, a cooking activity for women of different ages focused on health and nutrition for women which also includes millet-based recipes was conducted by M.Sc. Home Science students. A slogan writing activity was also conducted by the students of B.Sc. Community Science on the theme of Women empowerment.

On 7 August 2023 concluding programe was organized in Dept. of Home Science. The schemes related to lactating women was explained by Mrs. Geetu
Harkut (District Programme Coordinator, Aligarh). The problems and health
issues in lactating mothers were discussed by Dr. Karthika (Senior Resident/
Clinical Registrar, D/o. Community Medicine, JNMC, Aligarh).

Nukkad Natak (Swach Bharat Abhiyan)
A Nukkad Natak was organised by the students of Home Science to create awareness regarding replacement of Plastic with biodegradable materials in 2019. The students under the supervision of Mrs. Zeba Assistant Professor prepared various teaching aids like Charts, Posters, Flash Cards and Best out of waste near local Mohallah behind Indira Gandhi Hall AMU.
Extension Programme
