I am currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at AMU, Aligarh, where I have been since 1990. I completed my Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from ZHCET, AMU in 1986, followed by a Master’s in Computer Science from AMU in 1990, and subsequently earned a Ph.D. from the same institution. With 33 years of teaching experience both nationally and internationally, I have guided approximately 180 postgraduate dissertations and around 120 at the undergraduate level, Three  Research Scholars have successfully submitted their Ph.D Thesis under my supervision.  My areas of interest include Soft Computing, Image Processing, Cloud Computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Since November 2021, I have been the Coordinator of the National Education Policy Cell at AMU, where I successfully implemented the Four Year Undergraduate Program (FYUP) starting from the 2022-23 session. I am currently focused on the implementation of the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) at AMU, as per the directives of the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the University Grants Commission (UGC). Additionally, I have been serving as the Nodal Officer for the National Academic Depository at AMU since 2018.

In previous roles, I served as the Chairman of the Department of Computer Science from 2013 to 2014, and as the Director of the Computer Centre at AMU from 2012 to 2013. From July 2004 to July 2008, I held the position of HOD and Program Coordinator of the Department of Information Science & Technology at MCMAS (UMR-Rolla), Muscat. Earlier in my career, I was actively involved in developing the Salary and Accounting system at AMU during my tenure as Systems Manager, CU-CAO, AMU.
