Dr. Shabistana Nisar serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. She completed her education (Primary Schooling to Ph.D.) at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. She started her research career as Senior Research Fellow in the project, National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA), at ICAR-National Research Centre for Integrated Pest Management (NCIPM), New Delhi, in 2017. Dr. Shabistana commenced her academic career as Assistant Professor of Agricultural Entomology at Mohammad Ali Jauhar University in 2022 and joined Aligarh Muslim University as Assistant Professor in 2024. She has eight years research (5 years) and teaching (3 years) experience in Agricultural Entomology, focusing on crop protection, management of insect pests, climate change and apiculturing. She has qualified ARS NET and published over 60 research articles, popular articles, review papers, and book chapters. Her contribution has recognized with multiple awards, including Maulana Azad National Fellowship, and honors for best researcher, best thesis, best paper, and best poster from ICAR institutes, AMU, JNU and others. She has guided, co-guided and served as the member of 08 postgraduate students dissertation/thesis and supervised experiential learning projects in bee-keeping, pest management and nanoproduct-based crop protection.
