Sarfaraz Anwer has written his doctoral thesis on intertexuality, a first in Urdu literature. He has had a long stint in translation work. Earlier, he worked as a deputy head of desk at the translation department of a mediahouse that served international clients. Besides, he is a well-known poet too. His first book "Bain-al-Motuniyat aur Azadi ke Baad Urdu Afsana," which is also his doctoral thesis, has been recently published. His next book "Urdu Afsana: Tafheem-o-Tajzia" is going to be published soon. He is also working on a short introductory book on Pakistani poet Munir Niyazi in English.He is equally fluent in English, Urdu, and Hindi. He is currently translating some articles of critical nature from Urdu to English for Routledge's upcoming book Critical Discourse in Urdu.
