Farewell Function at AMU City Girls’ High School

AMU City Girls’ High School bid an emotional farewell to the outgoing Class X students in a grand ceremony filled with
nostalgia, gratitude, and celebration. The event was graced by Ms. Umra Zaheer, Superintendent of Abdullah School, as the Chief Guest, while Ms. Sabiha Khan, a retired teacher of the school and Ms. Shakira Parveen, the better half of the school Principal, were the Guest of Honour of the day.

The function commenced with a heartfelt welcome address, followed by a series of performances that showcased the talents of the students. The juniors presented a melodious group song, dedicating it to their seniors, expressing their admiration and best wishes for their future.
A vibrant dance performance added enthusiasm to the event, capturing the joyful spirit of the farewell.

The emotional highlight of the program was the farewell speeches by the outgoing students, who reminisced about their journey at AMU City Girls’ High School, recalling fond memories, lessons learned, and the unwavering support of their teachers.

Recognizing the remarkable personalities among the outgoing batch through various energetic and interesting rounds, the following titles were conferred:

      Ms. Aiza FatimaMs. Dynamic

The Chief Guest, Ms. Umra Zaheer, addressed the students with an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of hard work, resilience, and perseverance. She encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in their academic and personal endeavors.

In his concluding remarks, Officiating Principal Md. Javed Akhtar congratulated the awardees and extended his best wishes to the departing students. He expressed his confidence that they would bring laurels to the school and make a positive impact on society. He said students should dream big and overcome all hurdles that may come during their journey of success.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Vice Principal Ms. Farzana Nazeer, followed by an atmosphere of mixed emotions as students captured their last moments together through photographs, warm hugs, and heartfelt goodbyes. The farewell was a memorable occasion, marking the end of a beautiful chapter and the beginning of a promising journey for the students.

The grand culmination of the week-long events was the Republic Day celebration on January 26, 2025. The program began with the unfurling of the National Flag, followed by a cultural program featuring patriotic songs, speeches, and performances. Prof. Suhail Sabir, retired professor of the Chemistry Department, was the Chief Guest. His inspiring speech emphasized the importance of service to the nation and dedication towards education and students.

This ceremonial event brought together students, teachers, and esteemed guests in a celebration of responsibility, leadership, and unity. Dr. Shagufta Moin, Prof. Dept of Biochemistry, JNMC, AMU, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Ms. Princy Bhardwaj, an alumnus of school inspired students with her wisdom and experience. The event commenced with the giving of the Guard of Honour to the Chief Guest, symbolizing respect and welcoming the dignitaries. Principal Md Javed Akhtar delivered a heatfelt welcome address, expressing the school's honor in hosting such distinguished guests. He highlighted the significance of leadership in nurturing a vibrant school community and congratulated the new members of the Student Council for their dedication and commitment. The pinnacle of the ceremony was the oath-taking, administered by Principal, where each member of the Student Council pledged to uphold the values of integrity, discipline, and service. Arshin of Class XA was elected as the Head Girl and Agsa of Class XB as the Vice Head Girl of the school. Other members of the Student Council were also felicitated by the Chief Guest and the Principal. The young leaders, standing with pride and resolve, were reminded of the responsibilities and challenges they would face as representatives of their peers. Their commitment and enthusiasm were evident, inspiring all present to uphold the school's ethos and values.
