ABOUT

Department of Computer Science has a dedicated Training and Placement Cell for proper planning and execution of placement related activities. It interacts with leading software organizations and facilitates the online/offline placements test, group discussions and interviews as per the requirements of the visiting companies. Placements take place throughout the academic year. Pre-Placement talks and interactions with industry personnel are conducted on regular basis. Placement Cell also provides high-quality accommodation and food to the company representatives who are visiting the department for interaction or recruitment process. Job offers, eligibility criteria, dates of interviews, selection of candidates etc. are announced through the Training & Placement Cell. For proper grooming of our students, the Cell arranges training programmes like Mock Interviews, Group Discussions, Communication Skills Workshop etc. round the year. Many reputed companies like TCS, Accenture, Infosys, IBM, JK Techno soft, HCL, Info system, NIC, Wipro, Bharti Telesoft, and many more interacts with the Placement Cell every year for the recruitment of the students.

OBJECTIVES

Primary objectives of Training and Placement Cell are:

To provide job opportunities to the students by arranging on-campus, off-campus, and pool-campus recruitment drives.
To groom the students to the standard of leading organizations by organizing various training programs and activities.
To facilitate interactions among students, alumni, and employers so that students are familiar with the latest trends in the industries.
To arrange sessions for career counseling of the students to make them aware about future career prospects.
To conduct mock-tests, interviews, communication skills workshops etc. for developing confidence in the students and preparing them for recruitment process.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Department of Computer Science has state-of-the-art infrastructure. The teaching- learning process is facilitated in Smart Classrooms, specialized laboratories, Board Room, Conference Room and Seminar Library. All Classrooms have projectors, speakers, podium, and internet facility to promote dynamic and focused discussions. They are also augmented with integrated audio-visual teaching aids for lectures, presentations etc. to ensure advanced learning experience. There are two separate labs in the department for UG and PG students with more than 100 computers and internet facilities. These labs are also equipped with teaching aids such as projectors, printers, audio-visual support etc. we also have two separate research labs in our department to promote latest research studies. These labs help research scholars to develop and implement new methodologies in the field of Computer Science and related interdisciplinary domains. Some of the research domains that our students explore are: Parallel Distributed Computing, Expert Systems, Gesture Recognition, Computer Security, Machine Learning, Software Engineering and many more. Apart from that, Board Room is designed to facilitate interaction among 15-20 individuals and suitable for Group Discussions and Presentations. Conference Room can accommodate up to 150 persons and is frequently used for seminars, talks and lectures by experts. Our state-of-the-art Conference Room has two projectors, touch-screen TV, speakers, podium, internet facility and other audio-visual aids. Seminar Library has one reading room and is equipped with latest text books from all the disciplines of Computer Science.

FACILITIES FOR COMPANIES

Training and Placement Cell provides following facilities to the companies:

Compilation and scrutiny of students' resumes on the request of company.
Displaying the promotional activities/materials of company.
Providing well-equipped infrastructure for various activities such as pre-placement talks, offline/online tests, interviews etc.
Arranging accommodation and food for company representatives.
Pick and Drop facility from/to railway/bus station, if required.
Visit to University's famous places, if desired.

GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS

Students are advised too by following placement related guidelines:

Keep yourself informed about upcoming events/activities
Each student must give her /his consent before the registration date of the recruitment process of a company.
Each student must appear in the whole recruitment process of a company for which he/she has done registration.
It is mandatory for the students to be in formal dress and carry their ID cards throughout the recruitment process.
Students having one placement offer are not allowed to appear in further recruitment drives until each student is placed.
Students are advised to keep in advance sufficient copies of resume, passport size photos, etc. as per the requirement of company.
Students must be present at the venue of placement activities 30 minutes before the allotted time.
Students can withdraw from the recruitment process of a company before the last date of registration only.
If a student has queries/issues, he/she should communicate with TPO not the company representatives.
Maintain a level of conduct appropriate to a student in a professional setting and in accordance with the University's Code of Conduct.
Any act of misbehavior /argument /questioning during or after selection process shall be treated as a violation of rules and he/she will be debarred for further placement activities.
The Training and Placement Cell can make any modification in the above-mentioned guidelines if and when required.
In the event of any conflict/dispute, the decision of TPO shall be final.

MEMBERS
