B.Tech. (Computer Engineering) students from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Anushka Chawla and Aman Varshney, brought laurels by reaching the final round of United HCL Hackathon, hosted at Old Trafford, home to Manchester United Football Club at UK.
The AMU Team was shortlisted to the reach the final from 2800 teams and 13500 participants from universities of various countries. 'ZHCET_WARRIORS' is among the 35 teams to the reach the final.
They were able to impress upon judges, who were high ranking executives from the Fortune 500 companies by giving digital solutions to the problems posed by the world's biggest brands in the form of mobile/computer applications and software programmes. 'ZHCET_WARRIORS' coded their final idea in allotted time of 18 hours......

Aligarh, July 29: Aligarh Muslim University through the Department of Computer Engineering has signed MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Samsung R&D Institute, India-Bangalore Private India Limited under its PRISM (Preparing and Inspiring Students Minds) programme. Through this MoU, industry and academia desire to collaborate with each other in the technology areas of mutual interest and pursue industrial/ application oriented research and engineering development activities.
Prof M Sarosh Umar (Chairman Dept of Computer Engg, AMU) informed that the department of Computer Engineering with other Engineering Departments of AMU, and Samsung Ltd. will jointly undertake research and collaboration activities in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, 5G/Communication, Internet of things (IOT) and Multimedia
This Industry Institution collaboration will go a long way in imparting state-of-the-art training in the upcoming technologies to the students and they will get an exposure to the standards prevalent in the industry, he added.
The students and teachers of AMU shall be able to work on the industry relevant projects in cutting edge technology along with Research and Development Engineers at Samsung with opportunities for joint collaborations on research publications and patents as a result of the engagements.
Samsung has at present collaborated with only few selected educational institutions of the country as recently reported in the news.
