Dr Aisha Imtiyaz is Assistant Professor in Political Science, Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Previously, she worked at Centre for Study of Social Exclusion & Inclusive Policy, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. She has obtained her M. Phil and PhD degrees from Centre for Political Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. During her PhD, she has explored the questions of Citizenship and belonging-ness in the context of Indian minorities. The title of her PhD thesis is “Citizenship and Rights of Religious Minorities in India: A study of the National Commission for Minorities”. For her M Phil, she worked on “Judiciary, Religion and Citizenship: An Analysis of Selected Judicial Pronouncements”. Her research interest revolves around citizenship, minorities, gender, castes, representation and institutional studies. She has published several research papers in various journals including Contemporary Voice of Dalit, Punjab Journal of Politics and Indian Journal of Politics.
