After passing the tenth standard from St. Mary's Convent, Kanpur, I was enrolled in the pre-university class of the Aligarh Muslim University. Then I did graduation from the Women's College with Zoology (Hons). Later on I passed my M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D. from the Department of Zoology. As a research student I was awarded various scholarships from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). I was even a Pool Officer for a period of three years in the university, then I was appointed a lecturer in Zoology in the Women's College, A.M.U. My teaching interest is biodiversity both at under graduate and post graduate levels. My field of specialization is Nematology and area of research is "Biodiversity of Nematodes". I am involved in teaching and research activities and have published a number of research papers in international and national journals such as Nematologica, Journal of Nematode Morphology and Systematics, Nematologia Mediteranea, Revue de Nematology, International Journal of Nematology, Indian Journal of Nematology and Current Science. Presently, I am a professor and in charge of the section of Zoology of the Women's College, A.M.U.
