Dr. Mohd Firoz Ahamed has completed his graduation from the Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh, and was awarded with Merit Scholarship during B. A (Hons). Dr. Mohd Firoz obtained his M. from the Centre for the Study of Regional Development (CSRD), School of Social Sciences, SSS, JNU, and also got a Merit Fellowship during his post-graduation. His post-graduation specialization was in the field of Social and Political Geography having Remote Sensing as an additional subject. He has qualified for NET-JRF (UGC). Dr. Firoz was oriented towards interdisciplinary research. During M. Phil, Dr. Mohd Firoz has an opportunity to study Geopolitics, Geostrategy, and International Relations at the Centre for International Politics, Organization and Disarmament (CIPOD) JNU. Dr. Firoz was awarded with M. Phil and a Ph.D. degree from this centre. He has represented many Academic committees and forums since his post-graduation. He has been a member of the Student Faculty Committee (SFC) during M. A and Ph.D. courses. Dr. Mohd Firoz has worked on the Geopolitics of the Niger River Basin and suggested the important role and feasibility of institutional means of conflict resolution. He is an active member of "The Peace and Cooperation Development Network, PCDN" which is an international organization working globally in the field of peace and cooperation. His Ph.D. thesis was on Indigenous Spatiality and Phenomenology of Place and Politics of Resource Extraction where he was sanctioned to visit Brazilian Rainforests. Dr. Mohd Firoz has organized various Add certificate courses at the University of Delhi. Dr. Firoz has also carried out teaching assignments at various colleges of the University of Delhi in his capacity as an ad-hoc lecturer. He has taught Disaster Management, Geomorphology, Climatology, Environmental Studies, Human Geography, Economic Geography, Regional Planning and Development, and Thematic Cartography at Delhi University's Colleges. He has published three books and various Research Papers in journals of international and national repute like World Affairs, Geo Journal, The Discourses, and Indian Journal of Social Science Research. Dr. Mohd Firoz has participated in and presented his Research Papers at various National and International Conferences and pursued Research Methods courses and workshops. He was also involved in the "Electoral Survey" of the year 2007 to observe the voting behavior of citizens of Muzzafanagar district, organized by the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), New Delhi. Dr. Mohd Firoz Ahamed participated as delegate member at "the 6th CII India-Latin America and Caribbean Conclave; 8-9 October 2015 and was also invited to "The CII Interactive Session with Indian Heads of Missions in LAC in July 2018. Presently, Dr. Mohd Firoz Ahamed teaches Climatology, Ecology and Environment, Geographical Thought, Political Geography, Statistics, and Map Projection at AMU, Aligarh, and holds the position of Co-Coordinator of the prestigious "AMU Geographical Society".
