Dr. Saidur Rahman completed his graduation in Bio-Science from the University of Calcutta (1984) and received his M.A. (1987), M. Phil. (1989), and Ph. D. (1992) in Sociology from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He has done a Predoctoral Course in American Civilization from the American Studies Research Centre, Hyderabad in the year 1988. He has taught as a lecturer at Aligarh Muslim University from1992 - 1998. Dr. Rahman got an assignment abroad and has taught there as an Assistant Professor - 111 at the University of Asmara, Asmara, Eritrea from 2000 - 2005.  He got another assignment abroad to teach as an Associate Professor at the Eritrea Institute of Technology, Asmara, Eritrea from the 15th March 2006 to 30th October 2021. He was also appointed as a Visiting Faculty by the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in the year 2008. He has again joined the Aligarh Muslim University as an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology (Women's College) on the 1st May 2021. He has published 9 books and 25 research papers in  National and International journals.
