Dr. Shabana Hameed, Professor of Linguistics, Women’s College, AMU Aligarh, did her M. Phil. and Ph.D. from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Her area of research is Columbia School Phonology. She teaches Historical Linguistics, Phonetics, Columbia School Theory (Form-Content Linguistics), Language Teaching, to both under-graduate and graduate students. She has supervised one M.Phil. and twelve Ph.D. scholars. She has presented papers in a number of national and international seminars and conferences in India, Nepal, USA, France, and Saudi Arabia. Some of her works have been published by South Asian Language Review (New Delhi), John Benjamin’s (Amsterdam/Philadelphia), Cambridge Scholars Publishing (UK), Language in India (online Journal from USA), LINCOM (Germany), Aligarh Journal of Linguistics. She has attended a number of Workshops organized by NCPUL, CIIL-Mysore, Department of Linguistics-AMU, and Women’s College-AMU. She has been invited as a resource person to deliver lectures in Workshops organized by the Department of Linguistics, AMU Aligarh, CIIL Mysore, NTS Mysore.
