Medical Education Unit (M.E.U)

BACKGROUND

The Medical Council of India, by the MCI Regulations on Graduate Medical Education, 1997, made it mandatory for all medical colleges to establish Medical Education Units or departments in order to enable faculty members to avail modern education technology for teaching. In order to boost this activity, MCI has been conducting Faculty Development Programmes through selected Regional Centres, since July 2009. These Centres are located at institutions which have trained manpower in Medical Education Technologies (MET).

A Medical Education Unit was, consequently, set up in our faculty in the year 2001 under the Deanship of Prof. Kamlesh Tiwari and with Prof. Usha Singhal as its first Coordinator.

Since its inception, this unit has been functioning, tirelessly, with a mission to constantly improve the quality of medical teaching by conducting various Faculty Development Programmes, PG Orientation Programmes, Workshops, Symposia, CMEs, & Combined Clinical Meetings.
