SOP FOR LEATHER AND FOOTWEAR TECHNOLOGY SECTION UNIVERSITY POLYTECHNIC
Purpose:
Leather & Footwear Technology section was established in the year 2005. This course was started keeping in view the specific requirement of Leather & Allied Industries. This course comprise specialization in Leather and Footwear both. From 2014 onwards a course on Diploma in Computerized Shoe design & Development (Level 5) was started under the Umbrella of Community College Scheme of UGC. This course has a wide scope and all the interested students got placed in dream corporate organization related to Footwear & Leather after completing their Diploma in Engineering.
Scope Job Prospects
Job prospects are quite attractive for those who have excellent designing skills combined with mental ability and artistic aptitude. Moreover, creativity with uniqueness adds value to the skills of the leather designer and he can reach out to clients with such skills. Coming up with fresh ideas, concepts and designs are some key characteristics required in a leather designer. The Indian leather industry is growing at fast pace and can accommodate any number of professionals.

Safety:
In case of fire mishaps fire extinguishers are to be used.
Cleanliness:
The floors should always be kept clean and dry. Keep the benches, chairs and apparatus at appropriate places while leaving from laboratories.
Resource usage:
The equipment used by the students while performing the practical are issued by the Teaching Assistant and collected back from students before leaving the lab.
