Prof. Akram Ahmad Khan FACULTY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES ALIGARH MSLIM UNIVERSITY ALIGARH-202002 Int.:3753; 3766; 3772, E_mail: dean.agr@amu.ac.in Dated 12.10.2023 Plantation drive in Faculty of Agricultural Sciences AMU Aligarh A plantation drive was organized on October 12, 2023 at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University. The Chairpersons of different Departments faculty, non-teaching staff and students enthusiastically participated in this program to contribute to a greener Planet earth. The plantation drive was aimed at fostering the sustainability and environmental consciousness, aligning with global efforts to overcome climate change. Under the guidance of Prof. Akram Ahmad Khan, Dean Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, 100 saplings of various Ornamental/horticultural plants were planted. Prof. Iqbal Ahmad, Coordinator B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture along with all UG/PG Students of Centre of Agriculture Education participated in this programme. The plant for this program included Bottle palm, Aonla, Ashok Pandula, Exora, Croton, Araucaria, Gule-Fanoos and Harsingar etc. representing a variable range of plants for a sustainable and green environment. Prof. Khan highlighted the importance of a greener and healthier environment in human lives and urged everyone to promote the green cover of the campus. The hands-on experience to the students during the program was invaluable, promoting a sense of responsibility and care for the environment and collectively building a more sustainable and environmentally conscious campus and society. Celebration of 75th Independence Day: Essay writing Competition 13th August, 2022 The Centre of Agricultural Education, Faculty
of Agricultural Sciences Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh organized Essay
Writing Competition on the theme, “Importance of Millet on Human Health” on the
occasion of 75TH INDEPENDENCE DAY celebration on 13th August, 2022 under
“Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. The competition was successfully organized in
the supervision of Prof. Rais Ahmad (Dean;
Faculty of Agricultural Sciences) and other members of organizing committee. In the Essay Writing Competition, UG, PG and research students from different Departments of Studies of the have participated. Certificates were distributed to all the awardees (1st, 2nd and 3rd) in the competitions separately for Research & PG and UG programmes. | Outreach Programme on Natural Farming, 16 December, 2021 Outreach Programme on Natural Farming (16 December, 2021) Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh Aligarh, December 16, 2021 Faculty of Agricultural Sciences partcipated actively in “Outreach Programme on Natural Farming” on 16 December, 2021as a part of Pre-Vibrant Gujarat Summit at Anand Agricultural University Campus, Anand, Gujarat, which was addressed by the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji. Prof. Rais Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences with other digniteries keenly attended this online event successfully. Prof. P.Q. | Online Celebration of WORLD SOIL DAY 05th December 2021 The Centre of Agricultural Education, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh has celebrated Online WORLD SOIL DAY 05th December 2021. Dean, Prof. Rais Ahmad has graced the occasion and highlighted the importance of educating and creating awareness to the masses for protecting soil health. Prof. P. Q. Rizvi, Chairman, D/o Plant Prot. & Coordinator, M.Sc. (Ag) Horticulture, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, AMU, Aligarh has delivered invited talk on the theme: “Halt soil salinization, boost soil productivity”. Prof. Iqbal Ahmad, Coordinator and Guest Teachers has organized the programme. Most of the Undergraduate students have participated the online programme. Dr. Majhrool Hak Ansari has proposed Vote of thanks.

| Agriculture Education Day, 2021 FACULTY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES, Aligarh Muslim University Celebrates Agriculture Education Day The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences celebrated “Agriculture Education Day” to commemorate the birth anniversary (December 3) of first President of independent India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad (BHARAT RATNA) with great fervour and enthusiasm on December 11 & 13,2021. Prof. P.Q. Rizvi (Chairman D/o Plant Protection), Prof. Iqbal Ahmad, Co-ordinator B.Sc.(Ag), Centre of Agricultural Education (D/o, Agricultural Microbiology), Dr. Syed Kamran Ahmad, Dr. Ziaul Haque and Dr. Rizwan Ali Ansari (D/o, Plant Protection), Dr. Tahir Mohammad Chauhan and Dr. Zeba Khan (Centre for Agricultural Education) jointly organized several events at faculty level. The events namely essay writing, debate competition and inspiring lectures were arranged for all under graduate, post graduate and Ph.D students of Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. There was an appreciable turn out of the students, research scholars and teachers from various departments including Centre of Agricultural Education. Under graduate and post graduate students pro-actively participated in essay writing competition on the topic “Role of agriculture education and training programs in generating rural income for small-holder women farmers” and debate competition on the topic “Prospects of entrepreneurship verses government jobs in agriculture sector” on 11th December 2021. The last event, “Inspiring Lectures” took place on 13th December, 2021 with the involvement of Senior faculty members from various Department of Studies including Centre for Agricultural Education of the Faculty. This event also witnessed appreciable turn out of the students, research scholars and faculty members of different department of studies of the faculty- Prof. Rais Ahmad, Dean F/o Agriculture Sciences welcomed all the participants and expressed his views on progress and development of Agriculture sector in India. Prof. P. Q. Rizvi, Chairman D/o Plant Protection mentored and guided the students on employment opportunities in agriculture sector through an inspiring lecture. Prof. Mujeebur Rahman Khan, D/o Plant Protection lauded the importance of new education policy and possible benefits by its implementation in agriculture education. These lectures were immediately followed by declaration of the winners of debate and essay writing competition. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Prof. P. Q. Rizvi. | Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: "Essay, Quiz, Painting and Poster Competitions" On the occasion of World Environment Day, 2022 Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: "Essay, Quiz, Painting and Poster Competitions" On the occasion of World Environment Day, 2022 The Centre of Agricultural Education, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh has celebrated WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY on 5th – 6th June, 2022 under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” on the theme, “Only One Earth”. Faculty members of the Centre of Agricultural Education, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences planted tree saplings and delivered lectures on the importance of environment protection, while the students participated in Essay, Quiz, Painting and Poster Competitions on the theme, ‘One Life, One Earth’. In the keynote address, Prof Rais Ahmad (Dean, Faculty of Agriculture Sciences) discussed necessary steps for sustainable development and environmental protection. He said: Sustainable development embraces environmental, social and economic objectives, to deliver long-term equitable growth which will benefit the current and future generations. Prof Farzana Alim (Chairperson, Department of Home Science) delineated the role of waste management in environmental health. Prof P Q Rizvi, (Chairman, Department of Plant Protection) pointed out the role of humans in the environmental degradation and pressed for protection of biodiversity. Prof Iqbal Ahmad (Department of Agricultural Microbiology) spoke on health and environment. Dr Faheem Ahamad, Dr Majhrool Hak Ansari, Dr Mohd Talha Ansari, Dr Zeba Khan, Dr Tahir M Chauhan, Dr Arshi Jamil, Dr Md Ramjan and Dr Tejbal Singh discussed initiatives for building a more sustainable economy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
