Dr. Sheikh Mohd. Saliem was born on March 10, 1959 in the District of Jaunpur
(UP). His early educations (High School and Intermediate) were completed in the
home district. After passing B.Sc. from a Degree College affiliated to University
of Gorakhpur, he moved to join Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh for his
higher studies. He obtained his M. Sc, M. Phil. and Ph. D. degrees in Physics
from this University. He received Junior Research Fellowship awarded by the Department
of Atomic Energy, Government of India during his research period.
Later, he joined as Lecturer of Physics in University Women’s
Polytechnic on August 1, 1996. At present, he is working as Associate Professor
of Physics in the Applied Science & Humanities Section of this Polytechnic.
He is also the Reader/Associate Professor Incharge of Applied Science &
Humanities Section of this Polytechnic.
His specific area of research interest includes the Glauber Multiple
Scattering Theory and the Brueckner Theory of Infinite Nuclear Matter lying in
the broad research field of Theoretical Nuclear Physics. He has published
several research papers in the reputed refereed Journals like Journal of
Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physics and Il Nuovo Cimento. He has also
presented several research papers in the National and International
Symposia/conferences/workshops.
