By education and training, I’m a Maulatana – a female Maulana, with degrees of Aalima and Fazila from a traditional Islamic seminary. Later, I did my Ph.D. in West Asian Studies at the Aligarh Muslim University. Most of my writings focus on gender issues in Islam. For the last few years I’ve developed special passion for ‘Interfaith and Intra-faith Understanding’ – a subject that now I teach to the Bridge Course students. Muslim women advocacy and my passion for interfaith understanding have taken me to various national and international forums around the world. 

Recently, I have published an annotated edition of Sir Syed’s book on Seerah –the Khutbate Ahmadiya.
