Boopathi P is currently teaching in the Department of English in the capacity of an Assistant Professor. His interest is in the writings of the marginalized, politics of literature and literature in social and national movements. For his Doctoral Research, he studied the identity construction of Palestinians in the life narratives written by Palestinian refugees. He has published articles in journals and edited books, and presented research papers in conferences both inside and outside India in his areas of research. He offers an elective course titled 'Disability Studies and Literature' to final year Master students of English Literature and ELT. He has co-authored a chapter on "Creating an Accessible and Resilient Environment inside the Indian University" in the book on A Disabled Students Manifesto edited by Christopher McMaster and Benjamin Whitburn to be published by Peter Lang, USA. He wrote a review for Notes ON THE FLESH (an Arab Disability life narrative) by Shahd Alshammari for Routledge journal of Life Writing. His present works include ? Co-authoring a chapter titled ? "Ability and Merit in the Age of Privatization: Blind Academics in Neo-liberal India" for the edited volume on Disability and Academic Job Market, edited by Christopher McGunnicle, to be published by Vernon Press, USA, working on the autobiographical account of Naseema Huzruk, a disabled woman from Maharashtra and documenting the history of Disability Rights Movement in South India.
