Prof. M. Rizwan Khan, with over 34 years of teaching and research experience, has made significant contributions to the fields of Digital Humanities & AI, Teacher Education, Pedagogy, Curriculum Development, Linguistic Imperialism, Material Production, Literary Criticism and Theory, Translation Studies and English Language Teaching (ELT).

His innovative approaches to education have been instrumental in shaping modern pedagogical practices. As a former Director of AMU's Center for Distance Education and Coordinator of the UGC-SAP DRS-II project on Translation Studies, he has spearheaded numerous interdisciplinary initiatives and digital advancements in education. Prof. Khan has been deeply involved in exploring the integration of digital tools in education, particularly focusing on digital storytelling, the impact of digital media on language learning, and the pedagogical possibilities of artificial intelligence. Under the Global Initiative of Academic Network (GIAN) program, he has conducted two courses on Electronic Literature and Artificial Intelligence and translating Subtitles, underscoring his commitment to innovative teaching practices.

In addition to his teaching and administrative roles, Prof. Khan has served as Chairman of the Department of English, Director of AMU's Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), and Convener for Committees on University Accreditation and Academic Progression. His leadership has been pivotal in advancing AMU’s academic and institutional standing.

A prolific author, Prof. Khan has published extensively, with over 40 scholarly articles and book chapters, as well as edited books like Enrich Your Language, Build Your Language, and Improve Your Language, published by Cambridge University Press. These works are recognized as essential resources in ELT and digital pedagogy, blending contemporary methodologies with traditional learning frameworks.

As a mentor, Prof. Khan has successfully guided approximately two dozen Ph.D. scholars and continues to inspire students to explore innovative methodologies in education and research. His International engagements, both as a teacher and a Visiting Fellow, include lectures and training programs in countries such as Oman, Saudi Arabia, Italy and Hungary, showcasing his global perspective on education.

Prof. Khan’s numerous awards and recognitions, including the Royal Society of Arts Assessor Award for Innovation in Teaching and the Indo-Hungarian Education Exchange Program award, highlight his commitment to excellence in education. His dynamic leadership, scholarly contributions, and advocacy for digital and pedagogical innovations influence teacher education and curriculum design, bridging traditional and modern paradigms in the Indian and global contexts.

As Chairperson, Department of English, he came forward to implement Innovative strategies, such as Open Book Examination introduced for the first time at AMU, Introduction of Internship, Seminar Presentations, Project/Dissertation, Term Paper, Outreach Activities, etc, Diagnostic Tests and Remedial Teaching, Introduction of Timeline for each semester in the light of Academic Calendar, Major Restructuring of UG, PG & PhD Syllabi Based on Innovative practices like Teachers’ Autonomy, Open ended Syllabi, Beyond Classroom learning, incorporation of ICT, Critical thinking, Multiple Intelligence, Bloom’s Taxonomy, etc.

On the Campus at AMU, he is also known for his active engagement in the public life. He has been an elected Member of the "AMU Court in Lecturer's Constituency", "Joint Secretary" & "Secretary" of the AMU Teachers' Association (AMUTA), and also nominated Members of AC & AMU Court.
