Prof. Seemin Hasan chaired the Department of English, AMU from 2015-18. She has been supervising research, guiding projects, and teaching Ph.D coursework, postgraduate and undergraduate classes in the Department for almost 40 years. Alongside her work in the Department of English, she has designed syllabi and taught language and literature courses, mentored students in Women's College, Faculty of Law and Centre of Women's Studies. She has held other administrative positions of Editor Aligarh Muslim University Gazette, Member-in-Charge, Publications Division and Provost, Begum Sultan Jahan Hall for Girls .She has organized seminars, workshops, and has been invited as keynote speaker, resource person at conferences, teacher induction, orientation and refresher programs. She completed her schooling from Loreto Convent, Lucknow ,Bachelors and Masters from AMU. She worked on the poetry of John Keats for her doctorate. Her current research areas include Romantic Literature, Postcolonial Studies, Translation and Creative writing and Women's Studies. She has published articles in Asiatic, Indian Literature, Aligarh Journal of English Studies, JSL and Lemuria . She has authored a critical work, The Voice of Feeling :Myth and Mythology in Keats's Major Poems. One of her books, Folktales of UP Tribes , co-authored with her father ,Dr. Amir Hasan is catalogued in international libraries. .Her research paper entitled,' The Mythic Modes in Lyrics of 1920' (AJES, 16, 1994) has been included in the Current Bibliography, Keats-Shelley Journal ,Scholarly Romantic Circles Her chapter entitled ‘Feminism and Feminist Utopia in Rokeya Sakhawat Hussain’s ‘Sultana’s Dream’, in Behind the Veil( 2007) , ISBN:8131-301-508 This paper was taught in the Department of English, UCLA, Session 2016-17, Course no.98TB, Women’s Utopian Writing, Past and Present.

In 2018, she was invited by Professor Susan Avery, Dept.of Psychology, Sonoma University, USA to contribute a folktale, 'A Rope of Ash' to her collection Winter's Graces.
Prof. Hasan is associated with different universities like JNU, Delhi University, Jamia Milia, Lucknow University, Integral University, University of Jammu, Kashmir University, MAANU, Lovely University as subject expert, examiner for MPhil and Ph. D and in advisory capacity.
